Re: Audi India launches cut price, A4 Celebration Edition

Would say that this is a pretty smart move by Audi to get in the suckers to pay up for an outdated motor tune with fewer features. It's a Jetta with an Audi badge and they want customers to pay an 8lac premium for it. Well, there's one born every minute apparently.

But there are millions of people out there who will shell out that extra money for the brand alone. An AUDI is much much ahead than a Jetta when it comes to your brand image factor. And do not forget that until now people were paying even more premium for this same car. Its been only a couple of months since Audi pumped up the power figures on its car.

Re: Audi India launches cut price, A4 Celebration Edition

A little OT here; wondering what will A3 sedan do when launched, I am sure the so called image factor of Audi will take a major hit. One of my friend a non-petrohead had this josh of getting a image booster and zeroed on a used 2007-08 A4 diesel within a budget of 14L, but when he TD'd few cars and realised that a 2010-11 Laura diesel was more refined than these cars, he only said - what a hoax in the name of brand. And ended up buying a used 2010 Jetta for 9L, which in his opinion is far better than the 2007-08 A4.

When current models of WAG are compared in their hierarchy, there will be difference, but when you compare the relatively new Laura, Jetta it with older A4s (with their relatively high resale IMHO totally not worth) you will be surprised.
