Thats quite a fast forward if its true - we were expecting common rail engines on their mainstream vehicles by 2007. Now it looks like the whole range gets Dicored before Q4 2006.....

Does this mean that the new platforms are probably going to be delayed, with Tata buying time with the new engine range?

salilpawar... are you sure its "Indigo DICOR with a 1.4 litre 90-bhp turbodiesel", or is it just a 1.4 litre DICOR.

Wow !! 100 BHP Indica sport must be a real music..... i had earlier seen(demonstrated) a Rally version of INDICA petrol during one of my college Auto Expo's in coimbatore. It was completely tuned by Jayem automotives. Too good it was......

The Indigo still looks fresh for some reason, and its a pleasant surprise that Tata is giving it some cosmetic touchup. I was under the impression that the DICOR will be the only change.

And a 10000 - 15000 price increase ONLY? Typically Tata.

This was faster than I had expected.

True, Indigo still looks fresh. But, for once, Tata goes one step further and does a faster update.

Road test time, folks .. lets go ..

Hmm..good news for diesel lovers on a budget. But still, no news about the DOHC petrol, I was expecting it to be launched along with the DICORed ones. The current petrol "feels" similar to a diesel.

I hope Tata improves in cheap maintenance. My friend's Indica Turbo's (1 month old) power steering has started to leak. In a month, he has filled power steering oil twice, isn't it crazy. Just a couple of days back, saw a mechanic doing something under the hood in a new Indica V2 beside my home on the road, the problem was so severe that car couldn't reach to workshop.

Its very hard for me to trust in Tata. Dicor, TDi, Turbo seem absurd words.

Both engines are not just 'DICORed', they are also with VGTs and are Euro-4 compliant.

The DICOR Indigo would be one hot mama. If anything, it would draw a huge percentage of Fiesta buyers as well. Guess Hyundai has it's work cut out with the Verna.

And if Tata manages to get in the 90 BHP DICOR Indica soon, then bye-bye Swift JTD...

Looking forward to the 2.2 Safari.

Meanwhile, I doubt if the common rail range would be out so soon. Last I heard, rumours were abound that TATA is going to source it's future FIP units from Bosch, instead of Delphi. Bosch is only setting up production, and hasn't gone full-blown yet. I really doubt if any of the new TATA DICOR's are going to see the light of day before Dec. 06'.

'.
I'd doubt that Veyron1. The swift works only because it's abetter package - nice clutch, smooth gearbox, and easy-as-maruti-to-drive factor. Price will be the clincher, though. A 4-5 lakh Swift JTD can trounce the Indica. Taxis however ...

my experience with tata had been very fine . not a single penny spent on both my marinaLS (52K)and indicaDLS (27k) yes not a single penny on non-turbo indica. my personal experience tells me that indigo dicor will be next on my cards. good A.S.S. is one more plus point here.

@ballkey; Swift 1.3 JTD is expected at 5.5-6 lacs. Hence my statement. Without doubt, if the Swift JTD manages the 4 lac barrier... the waiting periods that we saw for the petrol Swift would be just the trailer.
