Ford India has launched the 2014 Ford Endeavour SUV at prices starting from Rs. 19.84 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

For 2014, the Endeavour gets a restyled radiator grille, headlamps and a new front bumper with a skid plate and new fog lamp bezels. Additionally, there is a blind spot mirror on the passenger side which improves visibility for the driver and safety. Restyled 16-inch alloy wheels complete the list of changes to the exterior of the car.

The interior of the Endeavour has been refreshed as well. There are new leather seats, touch-enabled STANAV entertainment system with Bluetooth compatibility and reverse parking camera.

Powering the 2014 Endeavour is the familiar 3.0-litre, 16 valve, Duratorq, TDCi engine that produces 156 PS and 380 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed, automatic transmission. Customers can choose between a 4x2 and a 4x4 version, which features an electric shift-on-fly system. Cruise control has also been provided.

The Endeavour is also available with a 2.5-litre, Duratorq TDCi engine and 5-speed manual transmission in a 4x2 configuration.

Prices (ex-showroom, New Delhi) for the three variants of the Endeavour are given below:

• 2.5-litre, 4x2 MT - Rs. 19,83,898
• 3.0-litre, 4x2 AT - Rs. 21,28,119
• 3.0-litre, 4x4 AT - Rs. 23,06,302

Any reason why they would not want to launch a 3 liter MT, 4*4 drive for India? Do they feel that our roads are not challenging to require such a setup?

Can we have more pics please. Looks quite dusterish from this angle. Not much price increase I must say. Lately we have seen car makers bump up the sticker price of next generation of their cars exhorbitantly.

Well, it's not the new replacement.(Article was there on T-BHP on a replacement which was revealed in Thailand)

It's a facelift, and it's come at a good time. Fortuner is about 2 years old now and Hyundai has just launched the super-expensive Santa Fe.

Good thing is, it undercuts the forutner by quite a margin. And the equipment list seems good.

Nothing wrong with the previous-gen car, but Ford is up against a Japanese giant who known for reliability and quality ASS. It's some tough competition for Ford.

This IS the previous-gen car, which is to say an ancient, crude pickup truck, an engineering pig with lots of lipstick, one might say! As usual, Ford is slow to model-change.

The Santa Fe at 27 lakhs looks VFM compared to this, or maybe even compared to the Fortuner, which whatever its reliability and image, is not much different in being a relatively crude truck derivative.

Frankly, i'd rather buy a Storme or XUV or Aria over either of these two. I dare say the Indian SUVs are BETTER in their engineering and refinement and arguably even in their design, especially interior. Never mind being almost half the cost!

Why is ford wasting time with yet another facelift. They ought to launch the all new Endeavour instead. From the looks of it, the all new Fortuner is atleast a year away?

That new front grille finally balances the facelift this truck received back in 09. Still wonder why they even bothered; with newer, more refined and better engineered competition struggling to even get half the sales that Toyota walks off with, selling the Fortuner, what was Ford thinking wasting time and money on this?

Anywho, can't wait for news on the next generation Endeavour. Ooh I just thought: what if Ford does a "classic" job and continues selling this as the Endy Classic with a price cut, to offer proper competition to rivals thinking they can get away with prehistoric, over-priced, under-equipped stuff (Toyota). Is it locally built or CKD?

I am totally disappointed as I was expecting an all new endeavour which will be in sync with the One Ford concept worldwide.

Was thinking exactly the same when i saw the pic . First thought someone has just placed the rocks below after parking the car. Then it looks like the car is on top of the rocks, certainly could not have driven the car with that floor... oh my, we certainly lose track dont we

Too little, too late! At a time we all were expected the all new Endeavour, Ford India launched this facelift. Does this also mean the all new Endeavour is still far from launch in India? Or this is just an attempt to clear the leftover assembly kits?

However, it is the only proper 4X4 truck in the segment with Automatic Transmission. Reliability is as good as any of its Jap competition, because under the skin Endeavour is a Mazda No doubts on Endeavour being a dated truck now, also has major flaws against its pickup truck based competitors. Unsettled leaf spring rear suspension makes it segment worst in terms of ride and handling, the knees up seating position aggravates the discomfort.

Nice Idea, but only a steep price cut will improve sales, one that could get the 2.5L 4x2 variant in the range of the top-end safaris and XUVs. Overall the competition in the Endeavour's current class is newer and better and i cant see anyone buying the endeavour over, say the fortuner, especially considering ford's appalling service standards.

I think this is a brilliant calculated move by Ford. 20 Lakh price range is now becoming like the 10 Lakh price range some 5 years back. So now whoever shops for a proper SUV and stretching till XUV will definitely try to get their hands on this monster.

I am looking around from a long time for an under 20 lakh range SUV. I thought Ford will launch the newer Everest model in India but instead they launched only a facelift. there is a big void of under 20 lakh SUV in india, the other being desi XUV & safari :(
