I'd choose the amby,

its the most comfortable car in this lot...n even now its back seat can give most cars a run for their money in terms of comfort.

Driving pleasure be damned!

Well I would choose the Amby over both of them. Thanks to Rudra. After seeing his black Amby, i've really started loving the Amby.

its the 118NE for me.
the ride was soooo smooth that still i am in awe of it.
the quality of gear shifts is also superbb.
except for the ground clearance and the body rust.

It's got to be the 118NE for me. I still cant imagine how people can rate the Amby's ride as better than the silky smooth NE or the Contessa. Apart from the best gearbox/ shift action, and excellent visibiity, NE also had better seats.

The Amby had more space but ride comfort quality and driving comfort was behind the NE for sure. Armada - well didn't really go driving in the wild and as for the Padmini - it had hardly just stopped being sold - never liked the cramped driving position and that hard chutch and brakes easily shouts it's age. Liked it more than the older non-1.8l Ambys though...

Premier Padmini for me, as it is a car that move accurately as one wishes with superb handling and best riding comfort in her times.

It is the best car I have ever loved.

I have driven all three - the Amby, the PP and the 118. The Amby was spacious but the steering wheel was placed all wrong and I almost never get to see the back seat, driving it was like steering a tug boat, the ride however was superlative. The 118 was silky smooth and was awesome (for its time) on the highways, the gear shift was perhaps the best till date and ride and handling were good. Nothing wrong with either of the above two cars but, the one I loved most was the PP, I cannot put a finger on it and tell you why. There is something about driving a PP that makes me love it.

Cheers,

My vote goes to the Amby, though I like the other cars listed as well, however Amby scores over the others as an all round package.

It would be Premier Padmini for me. My father owned one 7 years ago and I used to love driving it. I have learn't driving a 4 wheeler on the Padmini. The most enjoyable part was shifting the gears. The gear lever was located on the steering column and loved that position.
