I see the USB slot for the pen drives moved to the CD player area. Where do we keep an ipod in this version? Is there a second slot for USB (Near the Engine start button)?

i really dont like the placement of the engine start button, it has reduced the storage area next to it.

- Is the charging port still there?
- Will it be difficult to keep the phone there?
- Will the mobile charging cable interfere with the gear shaft?

Congrats on the booking, what are the delivery timelines they have conveyed to you?

Hello, thank you very much, estimated delivery is 4 weeks but its also because i have opted for the AWD, fwd would be available in 2-3 weeks mostly.

Test drives will be availble only for FWD from either tomrrow or the day after.

On road price in mumbai for w10 awd is 19,40,000 INR

A Strong product just got stronger, a good facelift, exteriors looks great, not much of a change in the inside except that the silver fascia on the center console is gone.

Some things I noticed.

* why is M&M comparing XUV to the Altis ? If thats the case, should the Elantra's, Octavias etc be added to the comparo ? Does this somewhere reflect that M&M is seriously pitting itself against the big 'T' ?

* too many electronic gadgetry on an home bred offering is bit dicey. Will like to wait for the long term ownership reviews to comment on the reliability.

* the logo projector is a bit cheesy, and aftermarketish.

* Could have placed the Start/Stop button in a better location

* Hope there is another Aux / USB slot somewhere in the glove box or the arm rest.

* That Fog lamp housing is so overdone, that the new pulsar RS looks tame in front of it.lol:

M&M has consistently improved their products and it reflects in sales numbers as well.

I guess, Tata can just stop making the Aria now, there is no way that it can be revived anymore. But it was such a competent product and much ahead its time! The Hexa better be good if Tata wants it to survive among these monsters :)

Here's the pic from the previous page which shows the missing slot:

PS: My personal opinion is that the CD slot is indeed gone.

My source confirms that the W4 and W6 gets the CD/DVD slot loaded player whereas the W8 and W10 don't.

I am extremely disappointed at the lack of an AT upgrade. What's taking them so long? Basic apathy or ?
In this day and age, I'd expect an automatic variant to be launched at the get go, especially with the traffic conditions that we're facing. It just seems to make more sense to the consumer.

Or am I in the wrong here, perception wise?

And they have come with a new advertisement which sadly like some earlier M&M videos does not say anything much about the vehicle.

HI, is it just me ? or has someone noticed that the irritating silver plastic relection of the dashboard on the windshield seems to have vanished ?

Yes it has vanished, well atleast it wasn't visible inside the showroom i hope its still not when the car is out on the road.

Most of the added features seems to be available only on the W10 version. Would have been better if there were few not-so premium features available on the W8 as well. For e.g., they could have made features like reverse camera, express-up window available on the W8 as well.
And few features (interior) that will be sorely missed
- Sliding middle row seats
- Some luggage space with all seats up
- Better vertical/horizontal adjustments for arm rest

How big is the sunroof? Is it of the same size (which was smaller) as the XUV special edition launched few months back, or is it larger?

Two things work for me... The pearl white is better, IP(instrument panel) is more upmarket with black & beige. The buttons looks premium. Will wait till we have some discounts.

Hi friends. Just spent the evening at India Garage, Anna Salai Chennai

Action Taken: XUV 500 W8, Silver, Booked

Initial Impressions

Cheetah is now more like Mr. Cheetah, Esq.
Its a bit tamed now. More upmarket and much sobered down.

What you will like:
1. The dash has sobered down, the colors have reduced. Much more mature look. More classy and sporty now. I like!
2. Lengthy features like on the W10. Just for some 80k more. I switched up to the w8 from w6. No budget left too bad for me.
3. W8 leather quality is good
4. Flip key quality has improved
5. CD slot is gone for the w8. its still there in the w6
6. W6 loses the fog lamps and 3rd row lights
7. The red glo is gone. its all blue now
8. Fuss from the front is gone. But some fuss still remains. Not a very clean design according to me.

Other pros and cons from the review are probably the same http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offici...ve-review.html

Did the previous gen XUV500 W8 have an alloy spare wheel ? Looks like the current W8/W10 does not have an alloy spare wheel anymore.
