That headunit console looks like a living room wall unit from the 90s

Re: Isuzu launches MU-7 with automatic gearbox (2.5 lakh rupee premium)

The 4 speed AT is a joke (the 4 speeder in Fortuner cut the mustard). What's a bigger joke is the premium. At INR 2.5 lakh extra? Are you kidding me ISUZU ?

I guess MU7 AT owners (If there are any) can take out the AT box and get an extremely good resale value for the box alone...

That said, its a really nice vehicle. I've become a fan of Isuzu lately - my 15 year old truck drives rattle-free and feels more solid & better put together than many of the 'new' SUVs in the market today. Besides going everywhere the newer and allegedly more powerful vehicles go, too.

I think Isuzu comes up as well established Japanese manufacturer who makes good strong body-on-frame vehicles with excellent diesels, but we're discussing Isuzu's marketing strategies here.

IMO, they're making two primary mistakes:
  1. Selling an old-gen vehicle
  2. Are appointing dealers in a snail's pace, no marketing whatsoever

4-speed AT! really?
Dear Isuzu,

I can bear with a low priced Pik-up with an AT at 'D-max'.
Better launch a product worth considering. (Warna kahin MU dikhane layak nahi rahoge.).

I meant they wouldn't be in a position to display their MU-7. Really!

I am pretty sure there is something more to this than just these over priced cars. I am sure some weird government rule makes them to sell cars if they want to do other things like selling engines or producing spares. Hence, they just open a shop, keep some outdated models on display and don't even bother. They just be having other businesses which could be doing well in India. The few unfortunate people who buy their cars blindly suffer till eternity.

Re: Isuzu launches MU-7 with automatic gearbox (2.5 lakh rupee premium)

Which is this car, i mean SUV? Are they existing in India? I haven't seen one yet in a city like Pune as well. Not sure why they are here. The interiors, only one word, UGLY. The wooden inserts everywhere is purely bad taste, that too in such a costly car.

Can anyone confirm what is good in this car to buy one over other cars like Fortuner or Rexton or for that matter XUV? I have no clue at all .

I own this car for an year now. Absolute battle tank it is. Phenomenal ride quality. Fortuner runs like a grass hopper. One can ride this behemoth for 500+ KM without getting the back complaining

Surprising since the MU7 has leaf springs at the back instead of coil springs. Anyways good to get feedback from an owner, since I hardly see any vehicles on the road.

My first SUV was an Isuzu Trooper and I loved it. However, the current MU7 is dated by today's standards and with the new crop of SUVs lined up for launch, I think it will die a slow death in India.

I wanted to buy that before they replace this with muX. There are no electronic controls mostly in this car. No ACC. Only powerful functional dual AC. Stereo is double din and can be custom replaced. Comes with a kenwood with navigation on it by default. International alterra as its called in Indonesia comes with comfort suspension as here too. 0 to 100 under 12 seconds. Pretty quick SUV. Pure tough sofa leather seats.
No height adjustments even on driver seat. Middle row fore and aft adjustable. It just glides over everything. I confidently pummel it on highways
