I agree buddy! I was trying to put up a list of problems Tata keeps facing with Tiago one after the other.

Personally, am still not sure Messi's "brand" created a whole lot of difference in India for TATA yet. All I hear about the car is it's positive image due to the good quality interiors & design.

Petrol sales bias is actually good for TATA as their sales are more from this engine variant (for Tiago) and they are doing everything to make Revotron click and it seems to work.

But for a brand which was in deep dirt (because of themselves), these issues do look small, if you ask me! TATA has proved that they still can fight back against it's own odds, so I wouldn't worry much.

It is a chance for Tata Motors to re-look at their contract with Messi. Aligning with 'Tata Code of Conduct', it's better to severe the ties, now that the charges are proved.

Messi really never helped Tata brand image till now, in my personal opinion. But, the brand is slowly gaining respect due to their spectacular products (Tiago and others in pipeline) and that's really great job by Tata Motors.

Bad luck !? This has to have shown up with some basic due diligence.

Tax proceedings take years to come to this extreme end.

One product getting some success is a good start, but they should've kept up with the momentum by launching 'Hexa', like Toyota did with Crysta. Now they've big time lost the first mover advantage, by a LARGE margin.

To be honest, I can't feel bad for them anymore. What they're going through is largely due to their own doings.

Re: Tata Motors signs up Lionel Messi as brand ambassador. EDIT: Officially announced

1. Started off with a lot of unwanted baggage.
2. Had to change name after launch, so delayed.
3. Revamp production to cater to petrol version, hence delay again.
4. Brand ambassador gets caught on the wrong side of the law.

And yet, the Tiago has given reason for cheer.

I guess the Tiago is the Phoenix rising from the ashes, as far as Tata is concerned. Hope the momentum is sustained.

He is unlikely to go to prison as per news reports. A black mark nonetheless.

In what way, Messi's "jail term" related to this thread?
On a lighter note, looks like this is one more way to condemn TAMO

On lighter note, the thread is about Lionel Messi as brand ambassador, not Tiago's review

On another topic, even Ronaldo is now accused of same !

W can go on this for ever ...
This thread is NOT about Messi and his character either! This is about Tata signing a deal with him. I strongly believe, this is just an unnecessary news item on this thread. Anyway, I rest.
Cheers!
