The orange theme looks good on the exteriors, but on the inside it looks overdone. Renault should have skipped the orange colour of the AC vents (around the vents) and left it stock. Also the racing stripes should have continued on the roof. Nevertheless, a good attempt to boost up the sales.

Explore edition should have got an AWD also, it would have completed the recipe for the explorer-type people out there.

Good move to bring some juice to existing Duster line up that is struggling to keep the figures up in the wake of new competition.

Little birdie has also told that AMT is going to come very soon as well. By Diwali time, there will be even more significant changes by bringing the Brazilian version of Duster already caught testing on Indian Roads.

More so even a digital odo besides upgraded upholstery and may even bring possibility to seat more than 5. Yes, there might be jump seats as well added to the car to become a bit more value for money.

Main strategy to counter competition with Renault will be to defend the sales by giving every possible change to Duster & still keep the pricing a tad lower than Creta. Unfortunately don't expect Renault will bring in much needed ACC as this is not manufactured locally in India unlike Hyundai or Maruti.

But the signs are clear, this segment is beginning to see rising competition. I cant wait to hear more players jumping in

Slight OT.

If you look at the high res pic of the exterior shot, you will notice that the wipers are aligned for a LHD car. On close inspection, the hand on the steering and the Silhouette of the drive is also seems to be photoshopped! Whats cooking Renault?

re: Renault Duster Explore (limited edition) launched at Rs. 9.99 lakhs

Last year Renault had launched similar Duster limited edition. However, I did not see more than a handful YTD. Did it not sell much or were there truly only so few, which is the reason not many are seen running on the roads.

The AMT addition to the Duster would be welcome. However, the diesel AT Creta has beaten the Duster in terms of being the first in its class to offer this option. Even if Renault gets an AT option now, it would still be 'catch-up' for them instead of being the market leader in India, like how once they were, when they first introduced the Duster in the compact SUV segment.

AMT on the Duster ? I thought our manufacturers are only planning to use AMT on the smaller A/B segment hatchbacks!

One more "orange" stroke on interiors after the Hyundai i20 Active.
The exterior design is definitely better than original ones. The smoked headlights should be made as standard in all versions.
The interior lavished with orange strokes may not be to everyone's taste.
It might be a ploy to boost sales of Duster which are going southwards since past couple of months.

Cruise control on both 85 and 110 PS RXL is a good addition. The external cosmetic changes looks good. Interior looks good except the orange on the ac vents.

An automatic option would have helped duster to compete with Creta better.

I was at the Renault showroom last weekend in Mumbai and looked at the Duster too. Sales associate didn't point out the advent of this model at all. Very strange.

Regular 85ps RXL do not have ABS and airbags. I don't think Renault will offer these in explorer edition.

Not sure about the 110ps one.

Which colors are being offered for this edition? Two colors which I liked on Renault are the Amazon Green on Adventure edition and Blue one which I believe is an anniversary edition.

Come on Renault, you should be talking about the facelift now instead of these limited editions.

With the new Duster facelift on the horizon, isnt this a waste of time, effort and investment almost like a last ditch effort to sell a few units. IMHO Instead they should make use of all these resources in making the already wonderful Duster even beter especially inside the cabin.

AMT + AWD would make it really attractive for a city slicker like me who will also cherish the peace of mind that comes with an AWD. In my limited knowledge, I think AWD would prevent one from getting stuck at places like this:
