Re: *Rumour* - Datsun Go Cross version coming up?

The centre of the dashboard seems raised and squared, probably to accommodate a Renault Kwid like Touch-Screen Infotainment System.

The headlight seems to be inspired by Skoda Yeti (old version) for Fog Lamps, Hyundai Elite i20 for Headlight's design, and Tata Nexon for raised Indicator section on top!

More images of sightings from Indonesia.

Re: *Rumour* - Datsun Go Cross version coming up?

What about the seats? In the current set-up, they are wafer thin.

The front seats are supposed to have Spine Support etc. I agree the rear benches are wafer thin, hope they make them a little more firmer and better, and provide Split Folding options like in Ertiga and other MPVs for easier entry/exit to and from the last row, and to provide versatility to keep luggage when all seats aren't occupied.

On zooming in on one of the side spyshots of Datsun Cross, a 7" touchscreen is visible and there are 2 AC air vents on top of it (in a design different from the central air vents in the current Go Plus). Indicators are visible on the ORVMs, like the ones in the updated Go Plus on sale in Indonesia.

Re: *Rumour* - Datsun Go Cross version coming up?

According to Eiichi Koito, President Director of PT Nissan Motors Indonesia, Datsun Cross will come with a CVT gearbox as well, as opposed to a Conventional Automatic Transmission. The Hazard Light Switch can be seen on the right side of the CVT Gear Stick, while the 12V Accessory Socket is there in it's current position. The bases of HVAC Knobs can be seen, indicating Manual HVAC even in the top variants, much like in the present vehicle.

The rear windscreen seems devoid of Rear Defogger, just a reap Wiper-Washer can be seen. The front seats seem like the ones in Datsun Go Plus.

This seems like the Go Cross will come with the Micra CVT engine combination . The XL CVT Micra is priced at 5,99K ex showroom and the XV CVT at 6.99k ex-showroom (Navi Mumbai). If the Go-Cross CVT does arrive, I expect it to sit somewhere in between. Any attempt to enter Nexon territory will be sudicide at the least.

Re: *Rumour* - Datsun Go Cross version coming up?

Carreview.id (http://carreview.id/versus/datsun-in...ndonesia/11208) speculates that Datsun Cross will be powered by a 1200cc 3 cylinder engine producing 77PS@6000RPM and 106NM@4000RPM, up from 68PS@6000RPM and 104NM@4000RPM. 5 Speed manual will be standard, while a CVT will be available as an opytion.

India may also get a 1500cc 64PS@4000RPM and 160NM@2000RPM Diesel engine.

It will have features like ABS, EBD, Dual Front Airbags, Rear Parking Sensors, Touch Screen Infotainment System, Engine Immobilizer etc. Ground Clearance should be in the vicinity of 180-190mm, currently the Go Plus has 170mm of Ground Clearance.

Re: *Rumour* - Datsun Go Cross version coming up?

With the Hazard Light switch placed on the top-right, in front of the Gear Lever, I think we can assume that the Hand Brake lever has moved from it's current position (on top-right side ahead of the gear lever) to a more logical place (i.e. in between the front seats) and the Connected Seat Layout will be gone in favour of a more traditional 2 bucket seat layout. Hope they put in a Mahindra KUV100 style Front Armrest with Cup Holders in between the front seats, if they still somehow retain the connected seats.

Re: *Rumour* - Datsun Go Cross version coming up?

Datsun Indonesia has put up a new promotional video to showcase the CVT gearbox feature in the Datsun Cross

A few observations from the video:-
1. The Front Seats seem to have changed from their current connected seat setup, as a lot of space can be seen between the driver's left arm/shoulder and the front passenger seat, which in Go Plus has a U-shaped connected bolstering in between (IMAGE 1).
2. It seems that Datsun has retained the same layout of 2nd and 3rd row of seats, as in the Go Plus MPV (IMAGE 2). Image of Go Plus seating configurations attached for reference, notice the round integrated headrests in Cross and Go Plus seats, and the 3rd row lacks any kind of integrated headrests (IMAGE 1).
3. The CVT Gear Stick has a Shift Lock button/indicator on the top right (can anyone enlighten us as to what is a Shift Lock in CVT Transmissions?) (IMAGE 3). Also, what does "L" stand for in the P,R,N,D,L setup, any inputs?
4. The IRVM seems to lack the Day/Night function, as a flip switch can not be seen in IMAGE 1 behind the IRVM, and it is highly unlikely that a budget offering from Datsun will have Auto Dimming IRVM.
5. Not sure if the front Seat Belts are height adjustable or not.
6. Not sure if the 2nd row gets Inertia Reel type 3 point seat belts now with a 2 point lap belt in the centre, or whether the 3rd row seats only have 2 point lap belts, or not even that. Hope they provide at lease these and ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts with 60:40 Split Folding 2nd Row seats, and 50:50 Split Folding 3rd row of seats for more versatility and practicality.

interior is actually like Datsun GO, but now black interiors with a new touch screen unit head. Head unit has a USB connection, AUX, Bluetooth and others. Seating configuration seems still 5 + 2 seater, with the back seat just a formality to be occupied only snot boy. Datsun CROSS only have 2 speakers only.

Standard features include new in its class, such as follow me home lights, dual airbags, MID, independent tachometers, dual airbags, ABS, auto light and even Stability Control called VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control).

Re: *Rumour* - Datsun Go Cross version coming up?

The brochure scans of Datsun Cross are out (http://otodriver.com/image/load/800/...un-cross2.jpeg), and noteworthy features (except what volkman10 has already shared) are:-
1. Ground Clearance of 200mm (https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-de3fFdKsA...2BGo-Cross.png)

2. Just 2 variants, 1 manual and 1 CVT with different power outputs but same torque figures,

3. Both the models have following features list as per the leaked brochure scan:

BRAKING - Front Ventilated Disc, Rear Drum Brake

SUSPENSION - Front McPherson Coil Struts with Coil Springs, Rear Torsion Beam with Coil Springs

FUEL TANK CAPACITY - 35 Litres

EXTERIOR - Projector Halogen Headlamp, LED Signature Lamp, Fog Lamp, Roof Spoiler with High Mount Stop Lamp, Function Roof Rail (with max load of 30Kg), Side Cladding Panel, Under Protection with Silver paint, 175/65 R15 15" Alloy Wheels, Rear Wiper, ORVM with Side Turn Indicator, Rear Reflector Lamp, Exhaust Finisher.

INTERIOR - Seating Capacity of 7 (5+2), Black Fabric with silver double stitch seat material, Driver and Co-Driver Sun Visors, Piano Black Centre Console with Silver Painted AC Vents and Dials and Twin Meter, Glove Box Lid (finally a closable glove box), 3 Spoke Urethane Steering Wheel with Silver finisher and Datsun badge, Front Doors Bottle Holders, Assist Grips (Front*1, Rear*2), Silver Paint Door Handles, Rear Scuff Plate.

COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE - Auto Light + Follow Me Home function, Air Conditioner, Intelligent Wiping System (don't know if it is Rain Sensing Auto Wipers or Smart Delayed Drop Wipe function from the current Go and Go Plus), Electric Power Steering (EPS), Front Spinal Seat Support (2 independent bucket seats with hand brake in between), Multi Information Display (MID), Independent Tachometer, Front and Rear Power Windows (with controls of all 4 on driver's side as well), Electrically Adjustable ORVMs, Power Outlet, Rear Scuff Plate, 2 front speakers (like in current Go and Go Plus), 6.75" Touchscreen Head Unit (with AM/FM, MP3, USB, Aux, Bluetooth, Smartphone Connection), Seat Configurations (1st Row - sliding and reclining, 2nd Row - Bench with Tumble seat, 3rd Row - Foldable Bench seat).

SAFETY AND SECURITY - Dual Front AirBags, ABS, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Parking Sensors, Central Locking System, Immobiliser, Keyless Alarm with Shock Sensor, Seatbelts (1st Row - 3 point ELR * 2 with Pre-Tensioners, 2nd Row - 3 Point ELR * 2, 3rd Row - 2 Point Lab Belt * 2).

So, in short, Datsun Cross is an Old Wine in New Bottle (a mid-life facelift of Datsun Go Plus) to make it more appealing as a Compact MPV. Let's see what Indian version offers, which will launch around April 2018 (as per my previous telephonic contact with Datsun India Ltd. after submitting a Customer Feedback about what I wish in the future update of Go Plus, a few months ago). I may consider this personally, as I do not need a full time 7 seater, and this gives me the flexibility I require to ferry more people over short distances or more luggage whenever I need to. Let's wait and watch.

Re: *Rumour* - Datsun Go Cross version coming up?

Another picture of the leaked brochure shows that Datsun Cross will be offered in 7 colour shades, Silver, Black, Grey, White, ?Orangish Red?, Red and Golden. Or maybe there are Dual Tone shades as well, as 2 reddish colours can be seen and there is hardly any noticeable difference between Silver and Grey shades on either side of Black. More details will be cleared tomorrow at launch.

Re: *Rumour* - Datsun Go Cross version coming up?

Datsun Cross will go on sale in Indonesia in March 2018 at a price of 163 million Indonesian Rp (i.e. about 7.5 Lacs INR) for the Manual Transmission variant and 175 million Indonesian Rp (i.e. about 8 Lacs INR) for the CVT Transmission variant. These are indicative prices and the final prices will be known at the launch in March 2018.

It will not be a LCGC (low Cost Green Car).

*Rumour* - Datsun Go Cross version coming up?-dashboard.png

The car uses a completely new 1200cc engine with power outputs between 68 to 78HP and 104NM torque. Can't see a Dead Pedal in this CVT Variant.

*Rumour* - Datsun Go Cross version coming up?-xyz.jpg

The Electric Mirror Adjustment is below the Air Vent on the far right. Also, the Headlamp Leveller seems to have been from it's location in GO and GO PLUS. In it's place, a TCS/VDC Switch can be seen. There seems to be something like a Cup Holder in front of the Hand Brake lever and below the CVT gear stick. Also, the door pockets seem to have large Bottle Holders (maybe 1 litre bottle holders). The covered Glove Box on the left side is a welcome change. Finally an enclosed storage area in the dashboard. The Wiper stalk seems to have Intermittent Delay Timer Function as well, like in Tata Tiago etc.

Safety features include ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Traction Control and Limited Slip Differential (as per https://oto.detik.com/mobil/3820896/...s-di-indonesia).

Roof Spoiler with High Mount Stop Lamp. Notice that the rear windscreen has only Rear Wiper with Washer placed behind the HMSL on the right side, no Defogger can be seen. Also, the front windscreen still uses a Double Swing-arm Single Wiper, like in GO and GO PLUS. The Hatch will have to be opened with the car key, maybe a remote boot opener will be provided in the production car.

Stylish Under Protectors. Only 2 Parking Sensors can be seen.

Roof Rails with Max Load of 30Kgs. Notice the centrally placed Antenna for AM/FM function.

Name: Touchscreen Head Unit.png
Views: 2251
Size: 394.6 KB

The 6.75" Touchscreen Head Unit has options like Bluetooth, AUX, USB and Smartphone Connection (can connect to iPhone/iPad as well).

Finally the Hand Brake is located in it's proper place, between the driver and co-passenger seat.

The driver door has controls for all 4 Power Windows and Power Window Switch Lock Button, with individual switches on each of the 4 doors.

The ORVM has Turn Signal Indicator and Power Adjustment, not sure about Power Folding.

The front gets Individual Bucket Seats, but the 2nd and 3rd Row seats continue from the Go Plus as such with no changes and no split function.

What surprises me is there is no 3rd Knob in the HVAC control board, which usually controls where to throw the air (windscreen, feet, face, combo, etc.). The AC Blower switch has 4 speeds. Can't see a separate AC ON/OFF Button either there.

Let's wait and see what the Indian version will offer. Looks promising and good. May definitely boost Datsun's sales in India if launched. I think that Datsun should have Redi-Go, Go (in another crossover avatar with 5 seats) and Cross (instead of Go Plus), and their Cash Registers will be ringing with good sales as Indians love crossovers and our road conditions require cars with more ground clearance. Awaiting Indian launch of Datsun Cross now.

Not sure if the prices mentioned are realistic. People can get an Ertiga or a TUV for that price and both are more competent in every respect than anything that Datsun offers. I was excited about the Go Plus when it was launched. When I saw the showroom car, that excitement evaporated. Cost cutting is evident everywhere, including the ultra thin steel used on the doors. The last row is really meant for shopping bags and not humans. They have spruced up the interiors and added creature comforts, but the fundamentals of the car remain the same. I doubt if anyone would bother to pay almost twice the launch price of the product for the new plastics. The GoPlus is a very practical Taxi though. Removing the last row allows drivers to fit a CNG tank without compromising luggage space. In fact, if it comes with a CNG or LPG kit and a CVT, that makes it very unique. A running cost of Rs 2.5 per kilometer in an Automatic is a big USP. Thanks for sharing the updates.
