The inside of the glove box cover has smart space management concept.

If I go by the pic posted, it seems it acts like a cup holder when open along with a slot which can be used for tissues?

Am I interpreting the picture correctly?

You are correct about the cup holders, though it is not an industry-first. The slot on the right can be for anything that can fit in there, tissues included.

I will agree with ksameer1234 here. I think the HU will remain fixed, which itself is not bad IMO.

Another point I am missing and not clear is, whether the car comes up with DRLs or not. I remember seeing DRLs in one of the spyshots. But I can't find any mention of the same in last two days. May be I missed a pic/post.

Very much present. Nowadays no one advertises about DRLs anymore. Even TVS scooty comes with DRLs nowadays.

Thanks. I hope they are not very bright as they become discomforting to oncoming traffic without median.

Our guys with the media drive team earlier - Viddy on the left, and Addy partially hidden (I recognised him from his hair!).

This was too advanced for the segment anyways. So no disappointment.

However, on closer look - the HU looks rather dull in all the pictures posted. It was called an HD display, but the pictures don't seem to be doing justice to it yet! The colours, clarity all look a generation behind, but it could be due to the picture clarity too.

Waiting for better pictures from Vidyut and Aditya. Here's the Ignis pictures in comparison, to show what I mean -

PS- I'm not comparing Ignis with Nexon. But it is the closest in terms of a floating display. The Smartplay system being shared with the Brezza, should look similar in Brezza as well.

Couple of interesting Tweets online

1. A potential customer wants to take test drive of the Nexon - hatchback lol:

2. Someone believes Nexon is a winner but problem lies with the name TATA agree:

I wonder which is the more ignorant approach? The common crowd who keeps seeing Indica / Vista / Bolt in this new age TATA design of the Nexon?

But to those BHPians, I humbly request to just do this similar test as above. Just approach any non-BHP'ian / family member and ask them their feedback on the design. You'd be surprised / shocked.

Right ! I agree ! For me these are a bit ignorant in terms of the type of info that we receive through forums like Tbhp or top Automotive magazines. Most of them use the same car they have been using till date and claim that theirs is the best. Like the owners of HM Ambassadors.

Again there are people who would just buy a Suzuki with a Fiat engine for a small car and claim that it is the best - though they score "0" on Safety, Design, Interiors, Technology etc. And if they extend the budget they would be still happy with an Innova, without AC, without infotainment etc etc.

We need not be shocked, but just respect their perceptions. I make sure that I do not get pulled into such kind of conversations. And here too, do not want correct anyone. But like many who pointed out - put the car in a different badge - they may stop complaining - that too here in the forum.

I never do, I am used to this. So I know when to get out of those conversations. :)

Yes, that would change the tone of the entire forum.

DRLs in action

The DRLs are pretty bright - and they do have a warm shade (or is it with the picture).

I assume, the ones in the projectors are halogens ? And we do have another high beam lights right next to it ? Very curious to know !

Auto wipers are confirmed?

The wipers should have come 'on' in this scenario, with a lot of splash evident on the windscreen.

Indeed. You are not comparing one car with another car, but image quality of perhaps a low-light photograph taken by OnePlus One and Nikon D500 (purely speculative).

This is like taking a photocopy of a photocopy and then saying it does not match up to the original.
stupid:

It could have to do with the setting right. One can switch off Auto wiper on the stalk

Agreed, but not really. The same can be seen in the high resolution images released by TATA as well. The colours and brightness look rather dull, or may be it is intended this way. The images i picked were only for similar angles.

Anyways, will be clear only once the team-bhp review goes live.

Meanwhile, here is my version of what the Nexon should have been. That bulge on the headlamps which make the "grin" wider removed and I like this mini - Hexa look.

I believe there's an anti-glare coating on the Nexon's HU (speculation from the image) which is absent on the Ignis's touchscreen (confirmed from my personal experience).

I, for one, don't like the anti-glare layer on my phone screen and have never installed such screen guards. On the other hand, a few of my friends prefer using such a screen guard for privacy and scratch protection.
