Frankly, too much chrome and a very boring alloy wheel design for a sports variant. Maruti should learn a lesson from Hyundai and VW here - about classy / sporty cars.

Is the Booster-Jet coming with an AT too?

Seriously Suzuki, you could have launched the RS version keeping the exteriors same as the existing variants. Even a school going kid would explain what a sport version of a car should look like: No Chrome.

Replace the chrome with piano black color and have a less cluttered alloy wheel design and you have a looker. Was that so difficult to do ?

The engine might be a good find, but exteriors are disappointing.

Yes, Maruti please correct the mistakes soon. It wont cost you anything if you really go out to do the needful.

1. Chrome strip at the front (and back if required) can can blackened easily.
2. Chrome handles - provide body colored ones with a think black line of paint like some cars do with chrome lining
3. Chrome window lining. Make this black like Sigma and Delta models.

The above three will in fact save you money Maruti. Invest the same in in the below item.

4. Change those gaudy looking alloys. Provide one from the export version. Simple.

TO all potential buyers, knowing Maruti; I doubt they would do anything of the above. But dont be disheartened. They are very easy after market options. Just invest a day to get it done.

Point 1 - 3M or similar outfit can help easily with matt black or gloss car wrap material.
Point 2 and 3 - Swap the same with a Delta/Sigma owner for free. There will be many happy owners to say "yes"
Point 4 - Sell the bad black allows at online portals for 15k or to a new Sigma /Delta buyer (brand new). Get the 16" from export model design from Nexa itself for 25ish (assumption as Ciaz 16" OEMS cost < 25k for 4).

Small headache, but worth. Regarding detuning, well it will still give you a good FE with power. So dont sweat much; it would still bring in a smile. Dont compare with GT TSi and you are one happy owner. Enjoy the Manual stick.

I am surprised by the feedback regarding looks that this pseudo-sports car is getting. I mean, it's still a Baleno. No matter how much you spruce it up. It will never be an Abarth. So, let's just focus on the drive. Although, knowing Maruti, they surely will be marketing the FE figures as well at the cost of 9 HP.

Doesn't look very attractive. I hope this is just a decoy and the real thing will be a lot better

There's one more small change in RS. Nexa sticker is shifted to right side (bottom) from central top portion of rear windshield :D

That sticker placement was fixed in older cars(centre top), but recently I spotted few S cross in dealer yard with the sticker in different locations. May be someone is experimenting with its position. stupid:

Personally, it sill looks a lot "Quirky" than "Cool". But hey, it is a Maruti and will command a 'Quarter' long waiting period.

I am guessing it was a freshly "Spray Painted" rim that was left to dry out without allowing the dust to accumulate!! lol:

Really love the Swift Sports Alloys. Suzuki India should have considered these alloys for the Baleno RS variant.please:

These plastics are common on imported/exported cars, but I am surprised seeing these on domestic ones as well. :)

So, RS would be launched in just 2 colours (Red & Blue)?

Which blue shade is going to be launched? Any idea folks?

Will Maruti introduce the new blue shade that was showcased at the Auto Expo?

Probably since the alloys are cheap quality painted ('blackened' as they call it) ones, they would end up scratched and unfit for sale by the time they reach the showroom, leading them to take extra precautions.

Overall a poor idea, it will take almost no time for the finish to go after being driven on our roads. At least painted steel wheels have hubcaps to protect them.

I believe the engine is a 3-cylinder? Any idea on the refinement of this engine? I remember the Polo 1.2 petrol with a 3-cylinder engine and it was horrendous!!! Sluggish, more vibrations and noisy. Sounded like a diesel.
