Initial reviews mention about balanced ride and handling. Maruti has done a good with suspension and kept the body roll in control even with 198 mm GC. I am waiting to drive the car and my local dealer has no information regarding availability of test drive vehicle.

If all the above first reactions are true, the Brezza will do me fine. Space, NVH, sorted ride, planted- that'll do me. I'm not bothered that it's not brilliant or to an enthusaist's tastes (possibly), just above average in some key (to me) features will do.

Their verdict:

"There is no denying the fact that the Vitara Brezza is a sure shot winner for Maruti Suzuki with a real possibility of it becoming its bread and butter product in the next few years. It has exciting and yet understated looks, a good interior that comes packed with gadgets and a good mechanical package. Negatives of course include the plastic quality which really needs to be improved and the fact that the NVH levels are just a tad bit too high for our liking. Although we were a bit skeptical about the Vitara Brezza, the car certainly has not disappointed in any form or measure and is certainly something we would strongly advice our readers to buy if you are looking for a new car around the Rs 10 lakh range. All said and done, you have to wonder, does that mid-size sedan or premium hatchback really make any sense anymore?"

The last sentence sums up it well.

More comments from twitter:

Liked the way Maruti is going about this. Showed it in the Auto Expo, Revealed the price a month later and opened bookings, Media Drives immediately after which helps people wanting to buy have a good idea of the vehicle before booking and finally vehicle will start to reach customers in another couple of weeks. Less than 2 months from launch to deliveries. Something other manufacturers should learn from.

Is the team-bhp team out there in pune for this media drive? Or will it happen only at a later stage as 'we' need more time to review the car in a complete way?

The Team Bhp team should be there I suppose. Only if the reviewers feel they did not get enough time with the car to do justice to the level of detail expected from a Team Bhp Review, will they need to get the car again at a later stage.

Since Maruti seems to be driving things super efficiently with the Brezza, hope that will not be the case.

Vitara Brezza seems to be a good product, especially at this price point.
Overpriced EcoSport helped the VB come out as a better deal!
Also there is no strong competition for this car as off now because:
Mahindra TUV 300 is 'no so good' looking car with those extra 500 kgs eating into fuel efficiency figures and Ford has gone overambitious with EcoSport's pricing.

VB has a potential to shake the grounds beneath many cars from from different segments!

I second with the the verdict given by zigwheels about the plastic quality inside the cabin.
The material lacks premium feel and one can accept such material on Celerio or Wagon R but not on this car which costs Rs. 10 lakhs.

It seems that MSIL has learnt nothing from Hyundai (their closest rival) in this department.

Havent they answered the question themselves. The Brezza has Looks and Ground Clearance going for it and apart from the fact it is a Maruti (you can never go wrong with one). While their interiors and Refinement (cost cutting?) have it going against the Premium Hatchbacks.
Wish Maruti improves on their plastic quality aspect. Hoping for a more balanced view from the official Team-bhp reviews on this aspect.

Booked my Vitara Brezza ZDi+ with Sai Service (Just an hour ago).
As mentioned in previous posts, no On Road prices available as of yet.
Wait for the Delivery dates and TD. Hope I get it on the 8-April'16 (Gudi Padwa) :)

Congrats buddy! I do not know why maruti is delaying the deliveries. There were spy pics of lot of Vitara brezzas in factory stock yard. I guess maruti wants to claim an achievement with March sales outnumbering competition

Here are the on road prices for Bangalore.

# i20 Active has the 2nd best torque figures
# Has a petrol option
# i20 misses out on AT options
# Has least boot space since its a hatch crossover

Couldn't get the correct turning radius figure, can anyone confirm this?

Most reviews are, what can i say, "politely" neutral?

None of the journo's have panned the vehicle, but i do notice, that the motoring hacks are not as effusive as they were when the Ecosport reviews were penned, [sorry "typed", nobody "pens" down anything nowadays! :) ].

Common positives seem to be:
1. Good NVH
2. Width / Shoulder room
3. Well shaped, if slightly small boot
4. Mid range poke

And the minuses seem to be largely confined to the laggy 1.3 SDE and iffy plastics.

But being a Maruti and that too a new model and an SUV, am sure the booking queue will soon extend to the moon and back.
