Comparison between Ecosport, Brezza and TUV:

Verdict:

"The Mahindra TUV300, though relatively utilitarian in feel, presents itself as a more stylish option to workhorses like the Bolero and Quanto. It is surprisingly well-put together for its price, and is the only crossover in this space to offer a seven-seat configuration and an AMT. In that sense, it offers tremendous value. In the various stints that we had with it, the TUV300 has always proved to be tough and surprisingly reliable, which is what its target audience is looking for. The Ford EcoSport is stylish and sophisticated. And though it has had small niggles every time we tested it, we have rated it high for the level of safety it offers. It also has the most diverse drivetrain options in this lot.

Maruti Suzuki however, has narrowed down the options because it knows exactly what the market wants – a reliable, good looking compact SUV that comes with the promise of a robust service network. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is not the best car in this price bracket, but it certainly is a package that offers the most peace of mind. I won’t be surprised then if it manages to sell in more numbers than the others combined."

Congrats and thank you for sharing it. I looked all over for details about the these kits. Went through it. Its best to select only things which are required. The packages are waste of money. I've booked a ZDi. Alloy wheels (If the buyback on existing ones is good) and auto dimming IVRM are of interest to me.

@wildinstints Hi, I am planning to buy the Brezza and just wanted to know if I can get just the leather wrapped steering wheel and auto IRVM from the package. The cost of the auto IRVM is around 5500/- including wiring, right? Any idea about the leather wrapped steering cover?

Thanks.

What I would suggest taking into your calculations is the profit per vehicle, which would be of equal, if not more, interest to Ford.

I have done this calculation in the other thread discussing about price reduction of Ecosport - the link is given below:

Do check it out.

I am more interested in a reverse parking camera integrated in the IVRM rather then auto dimming IVRM. Does this come with camera.

Vitara Brezza VDI (O) claims the maximum waiting period now - 22 -24 weeks!

Vitara Brezza VDI (O)- differentiates from the VDI-with added safety features like dual airbags, ABS and EBD.
The safety equipment that will be present in the VDi variant are keyless entry, security alarm and most importantly the reverse parking sensors .

The front grille remains the same as the base model in styling and material used but the roof rails are painted in black instead of body-coloured rails in the LDi.
The floating roof has the A, B and C pillars blackened to enhance the visual stand point. The steel wheels have received full covers on the VDi and VDi(O).
The other cosmetic embellishments are body colored outside door handle and fabric inserts on the inside door trim.
VDI variant will have features such as rear power windows, upper box and passenger vanity mirror.

The rear seats have the addition of headrests which lack the presence in the entry-level model.

Does the ZDi (not Zdi+) variant also get the same Head unit as shown in the photos above?

Base variant clearly looks like Alto on stilt, and ugly especially in silver and white colours.
Looks nice in dual tone finish in top most variant.

IMO they should have provided the dual tone color option on the lower variants as well - at least on the Zdi. 15k for the dual tone is totally worth it. I'm hoping one can get it done post purchase - not sure if the finish would be as good as the factory painted ones.

Interior plastics look too bland. Seems like the Baleno's interior is a much better place to be in. Lower and mid variants just don't cut it. They even skimped on the chrome grille for the Vdi.:Frustrati I'd say go for the Z/Z+ trim or look elsewhere. (Baleno/SCross/Ecosport)

IMO, the dual tone option should be available with all trims as:
LDi++, VDi++ and ZDi++.

The dual tone is the best attraction of Brezza. But one should not be pressed to go for the top-end model for this.

Verdict

A closely fought battle among the siblings. Though it's really not fair to compare these two very different cars, we think this comparison will help you take sides and pick out the car you need.
