If history is anything to go by (read Escorts and Ikons), a price cut on regular versions will follow these special editions.

so thats 30k additional for just the alloys & the mp3 player!!
well, i would go for it still instead of a regular 1.6 or 1.4 fiesta

factory fitted alloys will be better anyday!

Usual Ford strategy. Put 2 stickers and a cheap mp3 player, call it "limited" and hope public fall for it. They've been doing this right from the Escort.

Oh yeah...yet another Limited Intelligence edition from Ford. Guess there will be more coming soon. Yet another Anniversary edition for Fiesta's 1st anniversary, perhaps?

An absolute disgrace for a Fiesta sports model. A decent bodykit or atleast a revised, more aggressive bumpers would have been the order of the day.

You can hardly call a cheap sticker job and an MP3 headunit sporty!

Instead, Ford should 'focus' on fitting MP3 players as standard fare on their other models.

speaking of sports models, saw an Opel Corsa sports model the other day!
red color with graphics on sides, never heard of this variant earlier!!

perhaps what ford could have done was to launch regular fiesta with 1.4 engine (tuned for efficiency) and "sports" version with 1.6ltr (tuned for performance) !!

as it is, people who prefer performance over fuel efficiency would be going for 1.6 ltr and hence there is a clear segmentation!! what say?

Now, this would be a sports edition, if hyundai brings this accent, wouldn't it ? with appropriate stickering, of course

thanks khanak for the image

There is nothing limited about it ...! And there is nothing sporty about it either ...! I saw one parked in the showroom and was trying hard to figure out what the difference was ... apart from the corny sticker!!!

I pity those 500 "limited" people who fall for this ...

This is not a 'sports edition' its a hardcore rally car.
Hyundai would never launch something like this...specially in India...no chance in hell.

@sahil, esteem_lover: Guys, although it's probably the best looking Accent I've seen (& I lurrve it), let's keep the discussion to the topic at hand - the stupid Fords & their Anniversary / Limited editions. Thanks

imo the best sporty version by ford was the ford ikon 1.6 "SXI".leather upholstery,cd changer,7 spoke rally design alloys(beautiful),the inverted air dam with the fog lights(which later made its way to the zxi variant as well and now the flair).

I second that Hellspawn. Atleast the Ford Ikon 1.6 SXi managed to look like a sports package, aided by the superb handling and ultra responsive engine.

Ford also added extra features, smart alloys, leather, sporty front bumper/grille to differentiate it from the then 1.6 ZXi.

In contrast, from the reactions of fellow team bhpians, I get the distinct feeling that most would pick the regular ZXi versions over the Limited edition Fiesta!
