I gotta feeling that most BHPians would take the base Ikon 1.3 Flair over this silly 'Sports' edition - at least that car's more honest & doesn't try to pretend to be something that it very clearly is not!

Well I saw the car on road, and it does have a good presence, better than the original one.

Till date, I've never seen any sport model Fiestas in Kerala. 80% of the ones that you see are the Duratorq models, again a majority of them the no-frills Exi variant. Clearly, doesn't look like people really fall for that 'limited ed' gag nowadays.

What's special about Ford Fiesta Sport?

Both 1.4 EXi and 1.6 ZXi have a Durasport engine, Durasport?!?! Just to confuse poor janta the name Duratech is converted to Durasport. Both have that silly body graphics, leather vinyl seat-covers, sporty pedals (???), and MP3 player. 1.6 ZXi also has Alloy wheels. Price difference between the sport and normal cars is around 32k in Mumbai. In 1.6 ZXi price difference seems justified but its not the case for 1.4 EXi.

I think the only people who see any value in Ford's limited / anniversary / birthday / chicken-soup / happy-happy-joy-joy editions are Ford themselves. A bit like the Emperor's new clothes...

If I was in Fords marketing division, I will use the "Sport" special edition tag to launch 1.6 TDCi engine with the most aggresive state of tune, and not launch the engine for sometime on normal models waiting the buzz to really go forward.
