| ![]() Thanks to Athul Benoy for sending this information in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP page! ![]() Skoda has silently launched a special edition of the Superb called the Corporate Edition. According to a message received by a Skoda owner, the Superb Corporate Edition is available at an introductory price of Rs. 23.49 lakh (ex-showroom). ![]() More details about the Superb Corporate Edition are not available at this moment, however it appears to be positioned below the Style 1.8 TSI variant. At present, the Superb is offered in three petrol and two diesel variants with a choice of a manual or automatic transmission. The 1.8-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine produces 177 BHP and 320 Nm of torque and comes paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, while the 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel unit puts out 175 BHP and 350 Nm of peak torque and is offered with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. | ![]() This isn't a scoop. This is a mass SMS sent by Skoda to almost all its contacts. Received this message from Skoda too. Hence would be better to delete "Scoop" from title. |

| ![]() A member from one of the Skoda groups contacted his dealer about the same and discovered that the corporate edition is limited to only Candy White color cars with the manual transmission. No word on engine choices Last edited by .anshuman : 21st August 2018 at 20:02. Reason: Removed excess spaces. Thanks |

Senior - BHPian | ![]() Looks like a roughly 2 lakh reduction from the Style MT version. Are there major features being deleted too, or is it a formalization of the discounts already being offered? |

Yes, the current basic model for Superb is Style 1.8 TSi MT. Ex- showroom 25.59 lacs. So, it remains to be seen what reductions have they made.

| ![]() With news that cars like Toyota Yaris have an on-road price of 18 odd lakhs (Bangalore).. seeing a car like the Superb at 23.49 lakhs is shocking.. shockingly cheap. Hardly 10-12 lakhs difference for a car that is 2 levels above. For someone who is looking for great value as an executive sedan, to be seated in the back chauffeured around this seems to be unbelievable value. If only the ultra-exorbitant road-taxes and insurance rates in general, all over India, are reduced the Superb would be cheaper by 1-2 lakhs further. You buy a Superb for rear-seat space and luxury.. nothing else. Given that, the pricing does seem really good. Who cares about features in the back-seat as long as it has the basics like air-con vents and rear center arm-rest. |

Senior - BHPian | ![]() Is Skoda targeting the fleet segment with this new launch? Jokes apart, this is a good move if it gets guys who primarily want to be chauffeured around and have less usage. Here is a crude photoshop attempt at how this car would look until we get an official image: ![]() |

![]() Btw, I don't think much ridicule is invited on this given BMW launched its 3 series e90 in corporate spec and that was its best seller.

Team-BHP Support ![]() | ![]() I'm not a fan of these stripped-down corporate editions (I prefer to buy them fully-loaded), but they make solid business sense. - Fleets, taxis, hotels will lap up these Superbs. It is an awesome car to be chauffeur-driven in. - Corporates themselves would pick these up for their chauffeur-driven executives. - Those on a budget or who were thinking of cars from a lower segment could easily stretch up to this car. |

Team-BHP Support ![]() | ![]() Till recently, I thought 'Corporate Edition' moniker was for premium variants. I got that from how companies sell software - - Student Edition (bare-bones software) - Home Edition (decently kitted software) - Corporate or Enterprise Edition (fully loaded) ![]() |

![]() Anyways I agree with you and think it is a very smart move by Skoda specially in a market where people are price and status conscious. Also this should work well for those also who have a chauffeur. Wont be surprised to see this car driving the sales volume for the Suberpb

Infractions: 0/1 (5) | ![]() If you actually look at the ex showroom Price of the base variant, it costs 25.5 Lakhs and the corporate edition is some 1.5-2L cheaper, which might translate in to a on road price of 29.5L against 31.5 of the current base variant. Would be interesting to see what features were eliminated from the base variant, but I think the difference in price is not that big a deal. Its just like a newer base variant has been added to the line. |
