I think we need to have something like they do in Europe, where something like 10 magazines come together and vote a european car of the year. Otherwise everyone from malayala manorama to patna times declares their own winner.

Speaking of which, european COTY went to the Ford S-max. Read on

I think they did start the Indian Car of the year last year itself, where Swift won the honours. And Apache won amongst the bikes.

The prettiest (actually hottest) woman in an advert, any advert, IMHO, is Sheetal Mallar. That she happens to be in the Indigo Marina ad makes the car deserving of Automobile of the Century, Technology of the Decade, etc. etc.

The Indigo Marina advt. where they go dating and the guy removes the dining table, chairs and food from the boot of the car? I thought the woman was Fleur Xavier.

The Honda CRV won the best driver's car award[cnbc autocarindia] for 2007,did not know this Mini suv was more fun to drive than the other car's launched last year.Hidden talent indeed.

Car of the Year
Good point!

BTW, Went through COTY website and their voting grid. None of the car is clearly head and shoulders above other. e.g. COTY gets 0 points from few juries. Again, nationalities seem to play a role too. All the french voters have generally voted for Citroen. It may be good car, but then this is more of bias than merit of the car.
