Re: Maruti's service circular for the Baleno, S-Cross & Vitara Brezza steering. EDIT: Swift & Dzire We are facing a similar issue with thr steering assembly in my father's 2017 Baleno. Has anyone recently got their steering assembly replaced? If yes, was it covered given the circular to cover it under warranty/goodwill as applicable.
Yesterday, I went to the workshop nearby in Indore and asked the team to get the steering column replaced under goodwill. They were quite hesistant to get this done as I have been servicing my car until now at another workshop. After checking my chassis number and service history and some heated conversations, they agreed to send the video to Maruti to get it covered under goodwill. They told me it will take over 2 hours to get the video done and asked me to come over next day at 9.45 am.
Today, as asked, I reached the service center at 9.45 am but the service head was nowhere to be seen. After asking the team multiple times until 10.15am, they finally called him and he directed someone to make the video. It was a 2-min job. I was shocked and sad!!!!! This could have been done yesterday itself and I wouldn't have had to come back again today. Anyway, I kept calm and didn't make a fuss out of it as I still had the main work to get done. I asked attending advisor to keep me in email communications with Maruti to which she flatly declined saying such comms are internal. I didn't know what to say. Now awaiting them to initiate the conversation with Maruti.
However, going by my experience, I would say it has been terrible in last 2 days. I had to literally argue for my rights and then received lethargic responses from Maruti Nexa service team.
I saw a copy of my service history, it was clearly mentioned in 2023 in writing that steering is too hard for us to comfortably drive the car. Whereas we have been verbally complaining to our previous service center since 2022. They always said that it's expected in 5th year and asked us to pay 20-25k to get it changed. My father, being naive and trusting Maruti, kept delaying this expense for financial reasons. We were unaware that such a circular has been issued by Maruti neither did our service advisor informed us. This is sad and a really shady practice on behalf of Maruti Suzuki Nexa.
If someone can help us and give advice here, would really really appreciate it. Sincere thanks to the forum for this thread, it's been really helpful. |
