It sure looks like it

If it does make it, it'll be an interesting addition, although there should be a back up mechanical release function for the same in case it fails or malfunctions, like they did on the first iterations of Tesla Model S.

These handles might still be cable operated. Push-to-pull type like model3 but with cable mechanism instead of electric.

The cheetah definitely looks de-clawed.

Somehow I don't believe there is any difference in windshield angle etc.
Besides the missing claws and new design ORVMs, the panels beyond the C pillar seem to have been redesigned. The shoulder-line seems to have taken inspiration from the current Fortuner (which itself was a inspiration from 1st Gen XUV).

This looks nothing like the current gen Ssangyong Korando (which is pretty handsome btw) which the upcoming XUV500 was rumoured to be based on.

Could it be the upcoming new Scorpio instead ?

With the spy images looks like Mahindra is working mainly on the Boot space (behind C pillar) and the claw type handles. Apart from that I don't see any changes between A & C pillar.

Even the bonnet looks similar to the current gen with the bulge on the sides.

Next-gen Mahindra XUV500 to lose ‘cheetah claw’ door handles!

Chief among these is the new design for the door handles. The second-gen model will feature flush-fitting door handles in place of the original XUV500’s distinctive ‘cheetah claw’ handles. It’s not clear if these handles will feature the same power-operated pop-out function seen on newer Teslas and the latest Range Rovers, or whether the handle will be a lever-type arrangement as seen on Aston Martin models. In either case, flush-fitting door handles would be unique for SUVs in the XUV500’s price band. Apart from enhancing looks, these door handles are also expected to help improve vehicle aerodynamics generally, however it remains to be seen to what extent it helps Mahindra's next-gen SUV

Under the hood, the second-gen XUV500 will continue to be sold with its more powerful, 180hp, 2.2-litre diesel motor. The unit will be compliant to Bharat Stage 6 emission norms. The engine will feature a DPF (diesel particulate filter) and SCR (selective catalytic reduction). These will help it clear the stringent BS6 norms. Gearbox choices are between a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-convertor automatic – just like the outgoing model.

The xuv's ground clearance has been reduced to 165mm from 190mm due to some under body protection. Xuv is a fully loaded vehicle with great capabilities but 165mm is too low to be characterized as suv.

Reduced? As per my knowledge, it has been 165 since quite a few years now.

When xuv was launched in 2011 the GC was 200 mm, in late 2013 it was reduced to 165mm. It was due to some 3% tax on vehicles with more GC and its classification. Xuv successfully evaded the tax and saved some 30,000 per vehicle.

The GC did not reduce, the way to measure GC was changed.

In the face of increasing competition, India's leading SUV maker Mahindra &Mahindra, has chosen to lower the ground clearance of its flagship SUV, the XUV500. According to a report on TheTimesofIndia, the XUV500's ground clearance has been reduced from 200 mm to 160 mm through the addition of a "stone guard".

The stone guard, essentially a protective plate fashioned out of plastic or steel, protects the under-body of a car/SUV from flying stones and other assorted debris found on roads. The addition of the stone guard to the XUV500's under-body has resulted in the crossover's ground clearance reducing, thus qualifying the XUV500 for a lower excise.

The lower excise duty has resulted in the prices of the Mahindra XUV500 being lowered by about 27,000 to 33,000 rupees, depending on the variant specified. With the new ground clearance, the XUV500 falls under the 27% excise bracket, as opposed to the earlier 30% bracket.
