Knowing Mahindra, they will tick all the boxes of customer requirements. However, sober styling, I am not so sure. Well, we will wait and watch.

First quarter of 2021 will be such a long wait, wish Mahindra launched it sooner.

| ![]() I think this is the first time the relative positioning of equivalent Ford/Mahindra JV vehicles is being revealed. Mahindra taking the space, value and practicality positioning versus Ford taking the driving dynamics and quality interiors etc. It is a bit of a departure from the traditional macho/rough&tough/go anywhere image Mahindra is famous for. However, it is the right direction to move, since cars and SUVs are today less of a statement of personality & capability, and more of smart buying decisions - practicality and ease of every day use. A bit of a change from the current position of Ecosport versus XUV300 - Ecosport is the higher value play, while XUV is positioned as more powerful and driver-oriented. However, the positioning of Alturas versus Endeavor is more or less in -line. The Alturas is slightly cheaper, feature rich and luxurious, the Endeavor has better driving dynamics and off-road capability. Would be interesting to see how they would position relative to each other relative to off-road capability. This is Mahindras' traditional strength and position in India, but globally, Ford is a leader here as well. |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Is the 1.5 Dragon Petrol Dead?? Was thinking of closing a deal on a used Ecosport Petrol MT. I believe the Ecosport could run alongside the new C-SUV. |

| ![]() The C SUV will be in XUV 500 range for price and dimensions .. EcoSport will continue to be there, with the same engine options .. Last edited by anumod : 14th June 2020 at 22:33. Reason: Fixing a typo |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Mahindra & Mahindra has deferred the launches of the next-gen XUV500 and the next-gen Scorpio to FY2021-22, as per a presentation slide at a recent Q4 2019-2020 financial results announcement meeting. The all-new XUV500 (codenamed W601) and the all-new Scorpio (codenamed Z101) are expected to be launched by Q2 (July-Sept) 2021, just ahead of the festive season next year. Quote:
