This is surprising today itself I have visited another showroom of MG in Gurgaon only.

That's situated in MGF Metropolis Mall on MG Road.

Also clicked some photographs of MG Hector Hybrid version in red colour.

Saw the Hector today at Terminal 3 , Delhi Airport. Looks good overall and has a good amount of space inside. The rear floorboard is completely flat. The boot space is also good and 1.5 x of the Jeep Compass. The plastics of the dash are mostly Hard and shiny. The touch screen in person is not as large as expected. The blind for the sunroof is actually very thin fabric and actually is translucent.

The car has a good stance, though the tyres appear a tad small for the car with 215/60 R17 size. Here are some pics I took. Even after seeing the car I am still apprehensive about the touch screen and the excess of tech controls in the car with no fallback on mechanical controls.

Saw the Hector today in person at the newly opened MG outlet in Malad west, Mumbai.

The car clearly scored above the Compass, XUV and Harrier in terms of legroom and headroom on both the rows. A friend who has a XUV also confirmed the same.

They were accepting bookings for 50k and the sales RM who was with us said he’s got 4 bookings in 2 days - not sure how good a number is that to gauge demands as test drive and pricing is still not available!!

While accepting the 50k token, the screen showed a price tag of 20 lacs for the diesel topend manual variant with Sunroof.. not sure if this came up accidentally or was a dummy value fed in the system

Looking forward to the test drives...

Got this as a forward. No idea if it is correct.

MG HECTOR on the day of its launch had a steering lock unit failure at a prominent Showroom in North India. It is reported that the same failure has been observed from multiple showrooms across India. While the exact diagnosis could not be gathered from the dealer who await a senior technician from China to check the car, the part cost was roughly estimated to be about Rs. 70,000/-

This might be from Tata or some other competitor. lol.

This sounds so fake and BS. Cars at dealership will be parked with maybe low battery within few hours. Secondly, steering lock is electronic, might even be intentional to lock it on a display vehicle by removing the fuse for it.

And which dealer will know the cost is 70K. And senior technician from China? lol. The car is fully made in India. Why do they need someone from China. Can't the guy from Gujarat who made the car tell the issue. :uncontrol

This is really good ploy by someone to just pull down a new brand with silly reasons.

Let's wait for real world feedback to make some conclusion and not pay heed to such gimmicks.

Was thinking on the same lines - hence wanted a second opinion.

If its really from a competitor, that is really cheap.

I even got this picture as a forward which shows the steering unit lock failure, but don't know whether this is permanent failure or a temporary failure caused by someone turning the steering wheel (in which case it can be reversed by applying a little force to the steering wheel to release the steering lock pin.

Any info if the showroom in Chennai is open to public? unable to find any related sources!

I was casually going through the India website of MG hector. Saw the attached images. On the instrument cluster, it says " Please check engine ". Any idea what it means. As per the image, the car is turned on and is idling.

Saw the Hector on display at T3, New Delhi couple of days back.

My flight was in the middle of the night and expectedly, the MG kiosk had no representatives at such an odd hour. The car was locked so I couldn\'t take a closer look.

Here are a few pictures I clicked -

Will open on 8th. This is one of the last to get vehicles and hence opening has been deffered

One word to describe the showroom Awesome!. This will easily beat the Mercs, Audis and the likes in terms of swankiness.

But, what's with the grey car, seems someone went over the top with blinging it out. Most of the added chrome elements, especially the ones on the hood and bumper look so tacky.

What pricing would it come at??

IMHO .. If they can get it within a lakh of the Creta .. this one would be a runaway success, imagine the chunk of 11k units that the Creta sells.

It clearly seems to be a far superior offerings. But at 20L, perhaps not quite, they are looking at an entirely different class of buyers.

Looks like MG has been doing proper homework about out market. Car looks too elegant in stock form, so they need to appeal to people with poor taste too stupid:

If they are able to price in that magical 15 to 21 lakh OTR bracket, i think they should have a winner on their hands.

I would've lapped one up if it came in a 4x4 avatar. But alas.

lol: Saving grace is no stickering.

Since all the showrooms are slowly opening up, I'll try visiting one at Kochi this weekend to see if it is operational yet. Will keep this thread updated.
