Hi Ajit,

Can we look forward to your first impressions of the Hector once the Embargo ends on the 14th? It will be great to see your in depth first drive experiences and insights !

What I mean is MG should also advertise the service intervals, basic cost of service estimation and price list of major spare parts. Since they are a new brand, this would also have a positive perception with potential customers and avoid shocks later on. Basic and extended warranty on par or better than competitors would also help the case.

On the above thought: some clarity on the warranty that i received from a little birdie : The car will be offered with a standard warranty of 5 Years & unlimited Kms. and will have a possibility of extending it another 2 years.

Also, they would be offering service packages from day 1.

If this comes out true.. it would instill great confidence in the product.

Mods can probably add some more info on this.

Information from my sources in MG is that there will be a pleasant surprise in store in terms of service package

This is a pleasant surprise, the Cochin dealership has apparently crossed 100 bookings already and I believe test drives have not yet started. Picture source - whatsapp status of MG sales person from the Cochin dealership.

The Noida team has crossed 550. And mind you there are more showrooms in Delhi and Gurgaon

The high number of interest and bookings is unprecedented for a newcomer, that too selling a car in the 15-20 Lakh bracket. I'd like to say that MG did a lot of things right. In this soft market, they never skimped on money, be it PR or investing in a 'flagship showroom', which is important for brand building and what the other players never do (have never done) in India. In Bangalore they already have two service centres that are coming up this week. MG is really burning a lot of money, and that shows their confidence. This is purely my opinion.

Hector is probably getting benefit of brand fatigue. Or, equally likely, customers are waking up, finally.

Really!!

If it's true, that makes me optimistic about our car market. If a newcomer, largely unknown brand goes on to be a success (I really wish MG as well as Kia taste great success in India), it would mean:

1. Customers have more choices (and probably better ones) to select from
2. Other new players will gain confidence to come here and spend the required money.
3. Existing players will feel the pressure to innovate faster, bring more and more tech

But I guess I'm going way ahead of times, perhaps too optimistic stupid:

MG Hector Understands These 90+ Voice Commands

Upcoming MG Hector will get an exhaustive list of Voice commands including operating sunroof, AC, radio and more
MG Motor, the iconic 90 year British brand is all set to start their India innings with the India-made Hector premium SUV, that the company is pitching as the country’s first Internet Car. As fancy as it may sound, the Internet Car essentially means a connected car that gets an embedded eSIM to give remote commands to the vehicle.

Apart from the connectivity features, the MG Hector also gets a host of other convenience and safety features, making the Hector a feature rich car. However, it is the exhaustive list of Voice Commands that the company says is one of the highlights of the Hector.

Here’s a list of all the commands you can give the Hector via the voice-

I agree with what is said here. I am on the edge looking for a SUV and the Hector buzz has glued me to all the internet resources for information. The marketing and PR has been pretty impressive as my heart says to go ahead with MG, but the mind is asking me to be patient, wait for the price announcement, do a test drive and then commit. I hope MG keeps up with the expectation, prices the product well, and post launch continue with good customer service and after sales service.

MG Hector Detailed Real World Walkaround Video | All Features and Facts

i-SMART system seems quite interesting.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xG4mBScuIE4

I found the product configurator on the MG website to be quite detailed and precise. You can see all the feature differences across the variants in the interior pictures and get a very good idea how each variant will look.

I am attaching pictures of the style, super, smart and sharp variant interiors. You can see the missing touchscreen in style as well as the cruise controls etc appearing in super and upwards. Also the levels of Chrome increase as you go up.

A comparison between the MG Hector & its rivals.
