Wow! that's really fast. This company is doing everything right, and I really like that. When Harrier was launched I wanted to book one but Prerana guys told me that 'I might get a car in 3-4 months, as they're not clear about the first-month production numbers'!

Oh congrats!
Do let us know your ownership experience of DCT, as most people didnt get to do a long TD over different conditions.
When did you book the car?
So many vehicles delivered in a small town like Thrissur? Imagine how many deliveries will be there in the metros! Our streets will be flooded with Hectors in no time. Superb planning and execution by MG! Early visibility on the streets will give more momentum to convince fence sitters to book.
All the deliveries seem to be top end variants going by the chrome galore on the photos!

If this dealer was a bit more proactive, he would have tied up with MG India and released a YouTube clip of that delivery mela.
Maybe they have done it.
Checked MG India YouTube channel, the video isn't there.

Visited his YouTube channel. And right there, he has uploaded his review of the Hector. It is in Malayalam. His review attached below.

Is there any news or indicators on the diesel Auto?

When I checked this with the Kalyan Nagar SA in BLR, I was told there is no plan to release a Diesel Auto in his knowledge in near future. Diesel is apparently low on their radar due to the upcoming bans expected in Metros and so the focus is all on Petrol + EVs.

When we discussed with Rajeev Chaba about this, the answer was no as the priority is for
- The seven seater version
- The BS VI version
The other issue is that the BSVI diesel auto pricing might not be very attractive. Another point to consider is that the front subframe mounting points for the diesel were totally re-engineered as a diesel Baijun never existed before.
As a side note, my guess is the Hector is more of an interim model till we see a deluge of electric vehicles from MG which will be automatic and of more appeal to the urban consumer.

Probably after the BS6 upgrade and I'm guessing next year. I was really hoping for a BS6 diesel AT at the launch.
I took a short test drive of the petrol automatic today. Some highlights:
- I had forgotten to reset the 'trip meter' before starting the drive (which was showing the FE of 3.5 kmpl) and my attempt to use the voice command to 'reset tripmeter' wasn't understood by the machine.
- Lag at the start is irritating. Car would start moving almost after 1/2 second late. Is this because of the 'drive by wire'?
- Once the turbo kicks in, car is fairly quick within city speeds
- I tried using the tiptronic mode for changing gears but the car would immediately override what I was selecting. I wonder if there is another mode where the car stays in the selected gear (at least within the limits)
- Steering was lighter than my i20 CVT. But it helped to mask the weight of the car in the city driving.
- Suspension is soft and it showed up when I went in to an underpass with decent speed and this resulted in a fair amount of pitching and diving effect.
I enquired about the scratches seen below and the sales person did not have an answer. Second car in the showroom also had scratches but to a lesser extent. Seatbelt buckles were mysteriously removed on both these cars. I am concerned about the durability of the plastic parts used.

Thank you. This is really useful.
Though the Hector is really tempting, it just makes my choices easier. So all i have now left in my list is the Harrier AT or the Seltos AT.
Hopefully by the end of this year I will have one of the above parked in my garage!
Query - Is the initial turbo lag that can be corrected by MG later on if they get enough feedback? Will it be tunable by them for the existing batch of cars?
