Seven-seater Jeep: Compass interior shows and Grand Cherokee L-inspired bumper

- Name reveal in April, but launch will be in Q4 of this year.

Panel:

The panel of the new seven-seater Jeep (Project 598) is identical to that of the Compass 2022. The instrument frame is 100% digital and the multimedia center with 10.25 inch screen. The new panel is floating and the cover is with rubberized material and at its ends will have two air vents. In the central part, a bar divided the panel into two parts and at its ends will be the air vents. The central part may change color depending on the version, our report found that there will be golden coatings to give a more sophisticated look to the new model.

The floating-type multimedia center is in the center of the panel and below will be the central air vents. The air conditioning controls are still on the center console. The steering wheel is new and logo of the brand is with new design.

the front of the new seven-seater Jeep would have unique design and inspired by the new Grand Cherokee L.
Hood and fenders are the same as the Compass 2022, the difference from the brother is the new front bumper.

^^ They could name this 7-seater SUV for Brazil & India as "Patriot". Link to some rumour on the naming of this vehicle:

Jeep COMMANDER could be the name of the brand's new 7-seater SUV

Quote:
In the few images revealed it is possible to identify the letters "ER", which reinforces the rumors that the SUV will be christened in Brazil as Commander .

re: India-bound Jeep 7-seater SUV, named Meridian

If they can keep this to less than 40 lakh on road for whatever their top of line variant is then it will be an interesting alternative, which can simultaneous attack the monocoque crossovers like the Tiguan Allspace / Kodiaq etc as well the body on frames like Fortuner, Endeavour etc.

But from past experience I expect little to nothing from them on pricing it well. At the very least, I hope they can get their engine tranny mating in order this time around, unlike the Compass.

re: India-bound Jeep 7-seater SUV, named Meridian

If the current top end variant itself is going close 36 lakhs on road Bangalore, the 7 seater with an upgraded engine and FCA pricing blunders. It would rather be above 50 lakhs on road.

FCA will have to pull the rabbit out of the hat to price it around 40 lakhs on road.

I hear you completely (Btw I was benchmarking to Mumbai on road where it retails for 34.xx lakh for top end S variant, so you can adjust my number to 41.xx lakh maybe). I was hoping since Tata and Hyundai are in / expected to be in the 80k - 1.5 lakh mark up range for their 5 vs 7 seater, I made it 2 lakh for Compass with another 2 lakh for the bigger engine. So more than the competition given its Jeep and accounting for some subuddhi factor - that if successful models like Creta / Harrier are in that ball park price difference then the underselling Compass should not go crazy with this 7 seater.

Fingers crossed - only time will tell. They are also aware they're going against a Bahubali in the form of Fortuner. Their best bet should be to play 4 - 5 lakhs under the radar from the Big Daddy's price point.

Very sensible thoughts Axe. But Jeep fancies itself as an premium brand in India and knowing them, will price this on par with Fortuner or more.

re: India-bound Jeep 7-seater SUV, named Meridian

Commander, Wagoneer and even Destroyer could be the possible names of the 7 seater from JEEP.

New spy shots confirm the production form of the SUV.

Quote:
- SUV will arrive in the last quarter of 2021 with engine options 1.3 Turbo Flex of 185 hp and 2.0 Turbo diesel of 203 hp.

-Hood and fenders are the same as the Compass 2022, the difference from the brother are the new front bumper and slightly redesigned headlight.

-The grid seven slits has beehive shape is bulged inside as seen in the Grand Cherokee L, from it also came the inspiration for the auxiliary headlights that are well highlighted on the bumper

-The lower air intake is also mesh composed of small rectangles of rounded corners.

-The seven-seater Jeep 598 will have a shady glass in the "C" column, which in addition to reducing the claustrophobic effect on extra occupants, also makes the driver's life easier in maneuvers.

-In the rear, the new model will have the trunk cover well verticalized, the lanterns will have almost the same shape of the Compass, but invade the trunk cover and are illuminated by LEDs.

-An acrylic piece will make the connection between the parts, being separated only by the Jeep logo.

-Just like at Compass, project 598's SUV will have the nameplate lodged in the trunk cover.

-The panel of the new seven-seater Jeep (Project 598) is identical to that of the Compass 2022

More images: 7-seater Jeep Compass spied testing

The 7-seat version of the Jeep Compass has been spotted testing once again. This time, the SUV was spotted in Chakan near Pune.

The test mule seen in these images looks identical to the one spotted last year. It is said that this particular version is slightly longer than the regular Compass. The person who clicked these images also claims to have seen jump seats in the rear of the car.

The 7-seater Compass (codenamed: H6) is expected to be launched in India around mid-2022. Reports suggest that it will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine. In the regular Compass, this engine produces 168 BHP / 350 Nm, but the H6 will get a slightly more powerful version. It is likely to be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.

I’m sorry Sir, but that is just the regular Compass. Maybe there are jump seats but it looks to have the same length and wheelbase as the regular compass.

If you look at the pics in the previous post you will realise the 7 seater has a much longer rear overhang.

Also I see there are many berating the Compass 7 seater compared to Fortuner and Endeavour, but anyone who’s driven a Compass or owns one will realise what it brings to the table in driving experience and ease of use which the Endeavour and especially the Fortuner will struggle to match, even with the 7 seater or longer Compass. I would definitely consider it over others in its class if the 3rd row is decent enough. But one thing is true. It needs to be priced lesser than the Fortuner by atleast 4-5l to have impact.

Jeep will actually have much more humble interior, sharing elements even of Argo's SUV, the Project 363 and its coupe version, design 376.
Quote:
there is the same steering wheel as the new Compass 2022. In the piece we see adaptive cruise control commands, the Uconnect 5 entertainment system and the instrument board, which is digital.
Quote:
It is possible to confirm that the instrument cluster present in the prototype is the largest available, with 10.25".
Quote:
the instrument board is larger than the multimedia center itself
Quote:
In the rest of the interior, everything looks identical to the new Compass, from the red seams to the center buttons, which allow you to turn off the stability and traction control, lane change assist, beacon assistant, parking sensor and start-stop. At the top, it is also remarkable the SOS button, which can be activated in emergency situations such as accidents and triggers, via 4G connection of the car first responders and assistance of Jeep.

Sorry to keep posting comparative pics again, but in case it has not been discussed earlier the wheelbase seems to be increased quite a bit too compared to the regular Compass.

Good catch Volkman. I hope you can get some pics of the 3rd row soon.

If these pics are indeed of the 7 seater compass, then it seems more like a stretched compass rather than a full blown 7 seat SUV. The C pillar is very thick in the Compass, and I cannot see a dedicated third row window, so it may actually feel claustrophobic at the last row. I feel Jeep should have taken the route of the Safari, Alcazar by making a different version of the compass rather than just stretching it. As it stands the Compass is already an expensive car and for a 7 seat version we can easily expect it to be 1 to 1.5 lakh more than the current 5 seat version.
