The first Nexa showroom opened in Delhi in 2015. Today, there are 363 Nexa outlets in 206 towns and cities of India. According to Maruti Suzuki, more than 250 Nexa outlets were set up within 2 years of its launch and the figure crossed 350 within 4 years. In June 2019, Maruti launched its Mobile Terminals, covering 10 cities in 45 days.

Nearly half of Nexa customers are said to be under 35 years of age. According to the company, 70% of its customers are first time buyers.

Select models from Maruti Suzuki's portfolio are offered through Nexa dealerships. These include the S-Cross, Ciaz, Ignis and Baleno.

Time flies! I still remember taking delivery of my S-Cross - the first car to roll out of the first few NEXA dealerships in Bangalore.

For all the hype surrounding world class ambience, iPad yielding relationship managers, gourmet tea, bespoke accessories etc., the only thing that eventually benefited customers was a neat and well appointed environment to check out cars in peace.

I still remember how one of the sales advisers insisted on showing me a 360 degree view of the S-Cross in spite of having a real car to see right there

363 outlets in 4 years . That's more than some decades-old brands have in India.

Nexa was a master stroke - it's now the no.3 car brand in India (related thread).

Nexa wasn't so much about a 'premium' experience as it was about expanding Maruti's network. Sharing a related post:

As Maruti has proven, having another retail brand is an effective way of increasing dealerships & thus, sales. Lets call the existing Hero dealers 'Hero 1' and the new chain 'Hero 2'.

- You can expand your retail network by opening a 'Hero 2' outlet right next to 'Hero 1'. That wouldn't be possible with just the 'Hero 1' brand.

- 2 salesmen selling 5 products each will do a better job than 1 salesman selling 10 products. 2 showrooms selling 10 products each will always do better than 1 showroom selling 20 products.

- 'Hero 2' outlets will be first offered to existing 'Hero 1' dealers, so they don't end up unhappy with the situation.

- In exchange for the investment, 'Hero 2' gives them higher-priced 2-wheelers (thus, fatter profit margins).
