Hector Plus launch will be in H2, and not in April as was speculated earlier. Looks like MG wants to wait and see how the segment plays out and what kind of a premium the buyer is willing to pay for a 6/7 seater.

And claustrophobic. Don't see much head room and the quarter glass is tiny! Maybe the picture also is clicked during evening hours but definitely not roomy.

Clicked the Hector Plus test mule yesterday. This has been sitting in the same spot for 3 days now. With the camo, it seemed to be pretty much ordinary. One odd thing I found was that this didn't have a sunroof! But it did have LEDs and the top trim alloys. Strange.

The captain seats look quite comfortable too but would only give the final judgement after sitting in one. Otherwise, interiors seem identical to the hector.

The fake exhaust trims look really ugly though. Especially as the real one is just below them

:OT The camouflage was of very bad quality. It felt like the brown tape you get at stationery shops. Previously also, have seen hector test mules with residues left on the paint after removing the camouflage. Wonder why the cost cutting here.

Cheers!

MG Hector Plus to launch in June 2020.
Rajeev Chaba, President & MD, MG Motor India said, “We could have surprised everyone by launching it in April; but now April is ruled out. So we are on track to launch it in June. It has been delayed, but we said June earlier, so we are keeping some margin with us, so in June we should be launching it.”

Hi, would you mind taking some snaps of the 3rd row seats if possible! :)
From the side profile my speculation is it's going to have decent storage space. It appears there is decent area after the last row of seats.

6 or 7 seater Hector spotted at Halol Road, Gujarat.

MG Hector Plus spied this time with Toyota Innova Crysta.
6-seat Hector Plus to take on top-end Innova Crysta. Hector Plus will be priced Rs 3 lakh less than the Crysta.

It'll be tough to go head to head with the Innova without a Diesel Auto, and AFAIK there aren't any plans of launching a diesel auto anytime soon.

It will be very interesting to see if Hector plus can bring some damage to the Innova crysta's sales volume which is unlikely as the Innova Crysta itself is a very established brand and the belief which customers have upon their car is just remarkable. Reliability and resale value play a major role in Innova's success and so is the reson why old Innova customers are now upgrading to Crysta despite the car being so expensive.

Damn. That looks much better than the Innova and the 5 seater MG. The front looks more pleasing and the rear is well rounded. Pricing matters now. The MG isn't as robust as the Innova so they'll have to undercut it.

If Hexa couldn't sell, I doubt hector+. Innova is sacrosanct in that category. Directly pitching against it will result in a still better Innova for sure. It's like catch up game for rest Vs Innova. All it can do is eat away a meagre part of XUV sales. For cheaper customers there are ertigas.

I don't think Innova sales will be affected by 6 seater Hector Plus. The third row seat comfort for Innova is umnatched in its segment, probably Kia Carnival being the closest rival at a different price point. Those who really wants a usable 6 seater for adults will go only for Innova.

Having 6 seater is really a USP for Hector in its segment, will definitely be able to lure some numbers for Seltos, Creta, Compass and a small percentage from Ertiga.

I wonder anyone would choose the MG over the Crysta for just an extra 3 lakhs. Reliability plays a major role here. I would prefer the trouble-free, Proven Crysta for 3 lakhs over the MG Hector Plus anytime.
