You are right this would mostly be the mid variant since it has wheel covers and not alloys and also has a regular antenna not a shark fin antenna which is a part of top spec trims.

+1. The back and the side profile looks more proportionate than the Venue and even the Nexon. However, the tail light design looks quirky, with extensions across the boot like the Honda BRV. I would have preferred something some conservative. Also the side profile reminds me of the new Creta!

One correction. The car spied here is one of the base variants, with steel wheels and wheel caps. The top end variant with diamond cut alloys can be seen in the below post shared by BHPian CarguyNish. Those alloys are similar in design to the ones seen on the Venue and look quite good, IMO.

Even the Venue looks a bit more SUVish at the rear than the Sonet IMO. Seems to be a base variant with those wheels.

That said, good to see rear AC vents in supposedly base variant, but I would have actually liked a rear wash and wipe option instead of the rear AC vents.

I think the light design is inspired by its elder sibling the Kia Sportage (also the Tucson’s sister car)

Not a professional, did an amateur try and wish the tail lights are not connected. I hate this design language in some of the new Hyundai cars and surprising to see this design language getting into it's sister brand.

Even the XXL sized silver faux skidplate is an eyesore IMHO. :Frustrati

It is two sizes too big for the size of the car.

I agree.
It may look better wrapped in black.
If priced sensibly this can be a big hit like Seltos. If it launches in diesel Automatic then Hyundai may also have to launch one in Venue.

Looks too toned down compared to the concept.

Yess. It needs to be painted matt black to make it invisible. :) Also, the car appears a bit watered down from concept. Or, as other pointed out, this one is base variant and higher variants would look decent. Hope so. TC on diesel variant would work wonders.

Man oh man, what should I say, Was I impressed or was I scared with the ad!
With headphones on full volume it gave me a slight heart attack. Still not sure if I was impressed or if I was scared.

Seltos got heartbeat DRLs and Taillight LEDs Sonet gets vampire teeth DRLs and Taillights LEDs :D, definitely Kia knows how to get the styling right. I am expecting this to be another blockbuster under Kia’s umbrella! All competitors beware.

The designers definitely took a lot of inspiration from the Audi Q8 when they were designing the taillights and it looks fantastic!
I only hope that it looks a little more SUVish and muscular as compared to the Venue.

Kia must hope there are no price overlaps between this and the Seltos or else the vampire teeth will pierce the heart and stop their heartbeat. :D
