Maruti Ertiga with BS6 Diesel engine spied

With petrol only variant, Maruti made a killing with Ertiga. Wonder what will happen when they launch diesel. With Innova costing over 20L for base variant, COVID demand from cabbies is less and have moved to alternatives. Ertiga diesel at 15L OTR is what the market is waiting for!

I still can't digest the fact that Maruti with all it's might was unable to develop BS 6 1.5 L Diesel within the timelines. It's more surprising that they just launched the BS 4 avatar a year back, they should have just develop the BS 6 version initially and skipped BS 4. They have surely lost some sales to Hyundai and Honda because of this.

While many here seem to await the diesel engine, the CNG Ertiga is not a bad option. Infact it is a better option for the commercial fleet to help keep their costs low.

Offlately, I observed there are many commercial CNG Ertiga's running around in Hyderabad despite sparsity of CNG outlets.
