If the teaser silhouette or the overall outline of the spy shots are anything to go by, KIA seems to have another outright winner on their hands. SUV is the mantra today (starting from the SPresso segment!) and if there is one MPV that looks the most like an SUV - it seems to be the upcoming Carens. At least from whatever imagery is available at this moment. Might look better than some longer mid-size SUVs right now in fact. Looking forward to the unveil of this one.

Quite remarkable that within a span of just about 3 years or so, KIA will have 4 cars on sale in our market. Something to learn from, for the competition. Especially the global players with fat pockets.

Good spot! Also interesting to note - for cars that seem to be in EU spec (one even has the EU number plate) - the car doesn't seem to have a conventionally mounted rear wiper. That's a rarity if not impossibility in that part of the world. How come I wonder! They mounting it up at the top? (rather clumsy) or coming with some innovation with high pressure jets or something?

Kia Carens officially unveiled.

The Kia Carens offers the practicality of MPVs, with the bold stance of SUVs.













Safety equipment like 6 airbags and ESC, Vehicle stability management, Hill-start assist, Downhill brake control, TPMS and all wheel disc brakes are standard across the range.





Kia Carens interiors comes with a 10.25" touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, Ventilated seats, 64 colour ambient lighting, auto climate control, multi-function steering wheel, UVO connected car tech, reclining 2nd row seats , puddle lamps and more.











Kia Carens will be offered as a 6-seater, with captain's chairs in the 2nd row, as well as a 7-seater, with bench seating in the middle row. The Carens will have the longest wheelbase amongst 3-row vehicles in its class.





The Carens will come with multi-drive modes - Eco, Normal and Sport.



The Carens will come with a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission with the turbo petrol, and a 6 speed Automatic with the diesel.

But this works perfect for mass buyers, who the Sales people can sell the 6 airbags as ultimate safety, structural integrity be damned.

Well, atleast one cant blame them for not bringing enhanced safety equipment as standard - something that most western cars take for granted by now.

The dashboard is really nice, makes the seltos look so dated. Abundance of long straight lines and sweeping look will age well as well.
I'm not so impressed with the exterior look, but if it's pitched against the ertiga and innova, it's not that bad.

Ofcourse, knowing it's really an alcazar, interior spacing would be key.

Wouldn't say it is clumsy Rather prefer it for the clean look.

First saw it on the Escalade/Yukon. Hidden within the spoiler, the rear has a clean look. Guess many American minivans/ SUVs has it
