Dont know about the price, if it remains the same, then probably it could be VFM for some individuals.

The spoilers, alloys and teh chrome exhaust tip are part of the option pack @30K- so that would take the cost up to 5.06 Ex showroom.

Ford shouldn't get lazy just because the Fiesta is outselling the Verna at the moment.
FIESTA is outselling verna because it is 'FIESTA' and not verna, so why should they copy verna and loose their competitive advantage. And I guess ford too knows it.
If something is selling good, it means there is something people liked about it, so better not to play with it until right time for new games.

Today, the ikon's spares are heavily localised and have almost maruti-like prices.
Moreover, the build quality is miles and miles from the esteem.
Not to forget one of the best handling U get for even(say) twice the money!

i agree completely.

The Ikon is better than all of its competitors at its price point. built well, doesn't look ugly or too dated, and spare costs are down.

plus the ergonomics and the driving pleasure.

i always liked the ikon. if i was not firm on a diesel hatchback, then i would have gone for an ikon.

Do you have access to Fiesta (is Fiesta) sales figures for Feb?. I was not able to find it over internet. Hyundai Sold 2,683 in that segment. Please quote reference of such a claim(outselling).
I agree with Amit's point of view

Please get facts right before making such comments. If u dont like the Ikon dont bother, but please resist from such comments.
After all, MUL vehicles are having a strong brand value & resale value than the Ford vehicles in India !!!

And M800/Esteems never(ever) had the need for full engine overhaulings at 40K KMS !!!

And if the Ikon was a sooooo nice car then why the sales is not happening when compared to Esteem ???

And.......what's the problem with my stats ???

@Mithun : I am not interested in a brand bashing exercise here.
All i wanted tp put across here is that Ikon is a good verhicle, and i know it coz i own one.

Brand value and resale neednt always imply that the other is a great car.

This thread has had inputs from many current as well as previous owners of the Ikon expressing their views on how the Ikon is. Please take those into account before launching an all-out hate campaign.

Sales figures do not always tell the right side of the story, as any Fiat owner can tell you.

P.S. : I have put across what i wanted to say, and am refraining from any one-on-one posts on the same.

Rohit bhai, First you need to read Amit post fully (before agreeing to him fully). Its him who has written that FIESTA outselling Verna and not me. You did not ask him same question but fully agreed to him and disagreed with me . Be rational.

Does the feature rich Ikon now have anti-roll bars or Ford is still cost cutting on this vital feature?

Thats wishful thinking

Forget about new ford ikon, i have a strong suspicion even the Fiesta does not have an anti-roll bar ( atleast didnt see in its specs), I could be wrong.
My car has anti-roll bars

The only relevant point in your entire post (the one benny replied to) was that the Ikon has a poor resale value.....I thought the rest of it was a couple of typical sweeping statements only......but that's my opinion
