I definitely think Volvo is overplaying it's hand. It went from a sturdy proven platform to luxury but unfortunately, doesn't have the brand value of the other three main stars. If they price things a bit more sensibly, their sales could potentially go up.

Mercedes-Benz has released its sales figures for the third quarter of 2020. The carmaker sold 2,058 units during this period.

Mercedes sales rebounded to the pre-Covid level for the first time since the countrywide lockdown. In Q1, the carmaker had sold 2,386 units, which dropped to just 563 units in Q2. A strong MoM growth was registered during the period of July-September, with sales recovery up to 80%.

SUVs continue to remain the choice of most Mercedes buyers. They accounted for 48% of the total September 2020 sales. Models like the GLC, GLE and GLS were the key volume drivers in the SUV segment. The C-Class and E-Class were popular among sedans.

According to the company, 20% of the cars sold in Q3 2020 were purchased through its online sales platforms.

This is good news for Mercedes and for the Industry in general. With launch of A class limo and GLA, the numbers can only go up from here.

Mercedes-Benz India has delivered over 550 new cars during Navratri and on the occasion of Dussehra this year. Of these, 175 were delivered to customers in the Delhi-NCR region alone, with the rest being delivered in Mumbai, Gujarat, Punjab and other northern regions. C-Class, E-Class sedans and the GLC, GLE and GLS SUVs were the vehicles customers preferred the most.

The optimistic part of me hopes this is due to the EQC but the logical part says that's not going to happen so soon. Hopefully, it would be in double digit at least.

I think the reason behind the numbers is because people prefer to bring home their new cars during auspicious days. Even I took my delivery on Dussehra.

This number of online booking is more like a sham. One of my knowns booked an MB in August and everything was done at showroom but when it came to booking, dealership simply emailed a link to pay 50,000 advance as booking amount.

They would have shown this as online sales. I doubt anyone is going to book a car online as most of negotiations happen in person or on phone the very least.

Surprising to see Audi moving 257 units with no volume boosters in their portfolio. There is Q2 but it was not expected to sell much, thanks to its pricing. Any idea how many units of Q2 did Audi manage to move?
