MG has launched an Anniversary Edition of the Hector SUV. It is available in limited numbers and is offered with petrol and diesel engine options. Prices start Rs. 13.63 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the diesel version.



The Hector Anniversary Edition is based on the Super trim. But, it gets additional feature such as wireless charging, air purifier, a Medklinn in-car kit, panoramic sunroof, and a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment with built-in voice assistant and over 50 connected car features.

The Anniversary Edition is available with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 141 BHP and 250 Nm and a 2.0-litre diesel producing with 168 BHP and 350 Nm. Both engines are offered with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The Anniversary Edition is not available with the petrol hybrid powertrain, which uses a 48-volt lithium-ion battery that offers an additional 20 Nm of torque assistance when required.

Pricing is decent since it is same as earlier and gets some additional goodies.

Panoramic sunroof is only offered in top end Sharp Trim. Since anniversary edition is based on Super trim, it will offer only basic add on features like wireless charging, air purifier etc.

I think MG missed a spot to add chrome. Didn't find any chrome on the tyres anywhere.

European or Indian or Chinese, whoever be the manufacturer , it is just impossible to stop yourself from launching a special edition with some sticker jobs.
I would call this a Chromiversary Edition if the pic shown here is true for the variant.

Hey, I have checked several other websites including Rushlane and they confirm that a sunroof is not on offer.

MG Hector Special Anniversary Edition is based on the Super trim. It includes a range of new features that add to its celebratory spunk. This includes wireless mobile charging, 26.4 cm (10.3 inch) HD touch screen, air purifier and Medklinn Kit for interior sterilization.

Also, since this specific edition is priced exactly same as the Super trim, I don't think offering a panaromic sunroof would've been quite profitable for them.

And to all those wondering if MG has actually pasted all that chrome on the variant, no they didn't! The pic is of the fully accessorized version of the MG Hector and not the MG Hector Anniversary edition.

Jokes aside on the Chrome usage on Hector. This looks like most VFM SUV with sunroof. Harrier is at 16.99 lakhs for sunroof and MG offering same or more features at 14.99 a good 2 big ones cheaper

After reading through other websites, there is no mention of Sunroof on Anniversary edition. Can someone check and confirm?

How is the MG Hector A.S.S experience. There were quite a few horror stories big the Car being grounded at dealerships due to lack of spares and time to procure them. The China ownership angle is adding another level of negative press to the vehicle.

The Anniversary Edition does not get all the chrome bits and decals. These are part of the accessories offered by MG.

Like choco dip ice-creams, MG can call it chrome dip edition. In the process of trying too hard, MG is making a fool of themselves and the customers. If you want to sell your products, gain some respect, if you want to have some respect, have some standard.

The MG EV is a good vehicle, what the Hector needs is a diesel automatic not Chrome makeover. For every good move, do not dilute the brand with such not so smart move.
