Hmm let me try my hand at this:

City : Maini Reva powered by Swift VDi engine

Family: Stock Accent or Verna CRDi

Drag: Sipani Dolphin powered by G13BB Esteem engine, homemade laughing gas system and a close-ratio gearbox.

Trackday: Special powered by Jetta VR6 engine? Heh Heh.

1) city commuting - Swift with 19 JTD engine
2) family car - Ford S Max or Innova with Embera Diesel engine
3) one for the drag strip and the occassional traffic signal sprint - Subaru Impreza with LP640 engine

1. City commuting: Maruti Suzuki Baleno with Hyundai 1.5 CRDi engine. Or the stock engine.
2. Family car: Tata Safari with Audi Q7 3.0 engine

Though I am fully satisfied with the robustness, reliability, offroad-ability and torque of my new 2.5 XD3P engine, how I wish there was a way to make the MHawk engine work in my Classic. 5 speed box + 4x4 to boot! What a road monster she'd be.

Track = Fiesta S with Gen3 City VTEC L15
Hwy= Mondeo with Accord V6 power
SUV = Safari with MHawk power (the perfect Indian SUV)

Ultimate Fun Car = Gen1 BMW Mini with B16 power
Ultimate Track Car = Elise with Supertec V8 2.6 liter

My Choice would be:

City Commuting: i20 with Getz/Verna CRDi engine
Family Car: ANHC with stock engine
Fun Car: BMW X5

family car: innova with scorpio mHawk engine
drag: octavia RS with accord V6 engine

Guys, dont forget this rule mentioned by narayan:

Alto.. Wagon R and A-Star with 1.3L petorl and 1.3L DDIS engine

Swift with 1.3L Petrol and DDIS ( Which we alread have) and also it should have 1.6L petrol and 1.9L DDIS engine

SX4 with 2.0L Petrol and 1.9L DDIS.

Honda Civic with a 3.0L V6...

Toyota corolla with a 2.4L I4 from Camry.

Mahindra Scorpio with a 3.0L V6

Toyota Innova with 2.7L I4 2.7 VVTI.. ( UAE Market has this )

Toyota INnova with a 2.4D non-CRD Qualis ENgine.

Tata Safari with a 3.0L V6 Petrol ENgine

Chevy Captiva with a 3.0L diesel and a 3.0L petrol Engine

Chevy Spark with Aveo Engine

Hyundai i10 with Verna CRDI engine

city:tata nano with zen engine or 1.3mjd from swift/palio
family/highway:fiat linea with Honda anhc 1.5 vtec/2.0diesel from optra magnum(very much needed)
track: fiesta s with 1.8tpi engine from skoda .
