Hi folks I am not sure if any of you have faced this dilemma related to dimension/size fitting issue. I have an old 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer where the rear number plate area is not able to accommodate the new HSRP plate as the HSRP Plate is too wide and rear number plate area is small. There were no issues fixing the front number plate though.
Given below is a reference image of the rear number plate area. This is very similar to my Lancer.
Has anyone else faced this issue, if yes what was the solution. In my case, the only solution looks like mounting the rear number plate on the rear bumper or make a bracket and mount it outside the existing number plate area but it will protrude out and look ugly.
Looking for solutions and suggestions from you all.
I have been trying to order the HSRP stickers ( only the stickers ) for my Innova Crysta ( 2017 manufactured, 2018 registered ) and for my wife's Toyota Yaris ( 2020 manufactured and registered ). I tried bookmyhsrp.com, makemyhsrp.com, ordermyhsrp.com. All of them throws error like invalid laser id tag. On some of these websites, there is not even an option to enter laser id tags and even then gives that error. Are there any reliable place to order only HSRP stickers ? I am based in Bengaluru. Both these vehicles already have HSRP number plates. But, the sticker had to removed and hence I am looking for replacements.

The standard HSRP format is 50 cm x 12 cm and is used for almost all cars today. But that does not mean there are other sizes not in use. Another popular size used is 33.5 cm x 19.5 cm. This size is commonly used by transport vehicles (yellow plates) like trucks and pickups.
I would imagine you would need to find a plate maker and explain your predicament.
Also run it through your local RTO office etc to see if they can help with vendor contact and hsrp guidelines etc; and traffic police, in future, won’t say that such size is not allowed on cars! You never know how cops interpret the law leaving behind the principles/intention behind hsrp implementation.

I had ditto issue recently with Rosemarta, Maharashtra for Nagpur division. Car is Innova Type II 2010.
I had procured the HSRP long before in 2021 from Patni Toyota dealer much before the current mandate came in and deadline was declared.
However, when I checked when these HSRP dealers were declared and sites were up that the old Laser IDs were stated as Invalid.
Clueless, called up Patni and asked them. They enquired and reverted back saying somehow system has to have invalidated the IDs before the mandate. They cannot do anything. Asked them what to do , whether to remake the HSRPs and sticker or stick with old ? They were still saying it should be legible and was issued through system then.
Not to create any issues, decided to put order through the new system for the new set. It was duly delivered and fitted at Patni Toyota Nagpur. There was quite a hassle to remove the old HSRPs and fit new set due to the non-removable rivets though, but they beautifully managed all things.
All in all, the system now recognizes new Laser IDs and shows legible in system. Further to that, while sticking the sticker some mishap happened and the sticker was damaged. Ordered Only Sticker and it was also duly delivered and fitted.
Suggest, go and enquire to the dealer who had fitted the same and verify.
Worst case, go ahead and order a new set. There definitely seems to be some glitch with the system for old cars already fitted with HSRPs.

I have the same situation as your wife's Yaris.
My Tigor is manufactured in 2020
Don't know why but the dealer removed the HSRP sticker and put it in the glove compartment.
I tried to order it again from Rosmerta website and got the same error as yours 'Invalid Laser ID'
I called up Rosmerta and they informed that the website is only applicable for plates/HSRP stickers for cars manufactured pre-2019 April.
They said I will not be able to order the sticker via them and have to visit the dealer/RTO to get more information.
I'll be visiting Tata Motors soon to sort this out.
Not sure why your 2018 registered Innova gets this same error as it definitely should work for Innova.

I'd say just buy a good quality numberplate frame and mount it on the rear bumper.

Thanks for the suggestion. I reached out to the customer care of FTA (vendor for HSRP in Bombay) on email about this and got a reply saying, the number plate size is predefined and standardized and cannot be changed. Needless to say, the square number plate size (33.5 cm x 19.5 cm) is designated for commercial vehicles and cannot be retrofitted to passenger cars. A plate maker (non-authorized) cannot replicate and moreover is not allowed to manufacture HSRP number plates. Need to check with local RTO for a solution. Same issue is faced by Mitsubishi Pajero SFX and old gen Pajero owners. :Frustrati

Thanks for chipping in. Unfortunately, this would be my last option incase nothing else works. I would hate to see that ugly number plate mounted on the rear bumper of my Lancer, good quality number plate frame notwithstanding. Need to hunt for some other workable options.
I got my first car fitted with HSRPs today. Other than the fact that my chosen centre - Inderjit Tata was switched to a random no name garage in Jogeshwari and the fact that it wasn't conveyed to me in advance, until I called a couple of days ago to check if they were receiving plates on time.
Finding the place was also a bit of struggle due to the heavy rains but overall the fitment process was smooth.
Now I have to repeat it tomorrow for car no. 2 and day after for the scooter.
Mods please merge this with the post above since it's too late to edit my previous post.
Guys I have run into a strange inconsistency with the HSRP stickers.
I have fitted HSRPs on both my cars, one yesterday and one today. Both are petrol cars and both are from 2018 (Jan and Nov respectively).
Yesterday's car got a green sticker. Today's car got a blue sticker. Both have the correct details printed on it. Both are BS4 cars. Why the discrepancy and will it be a problem ? Both were serviced by the same HSRP vendor and fitment centre.
I'm inclined to leave it since from this thread it seems as though atleast currently it's impossible to just get a replacement sticker.
Am I supposed to get a confirmation SMS of some sort ? I haven't received anything for either car. Since I didn't receive one yesterday I made sure to check that the guy uploaded the photos to the portal today which he did.
