| ![]() You are, right. Audis have somehow lost the aspirational value. Those who want value for money luxury cars are better off with premium vws and skodas. Those, seeking snob value will go for 3 pointed stars or kidney grills. The difference in quality levels between a, skoda/vw and an Audi is only marginal. Add to this the outrageous pricing by Audi recently, it seems they are cut off from reality. Quote:

| ![]() Audi MUST price this A4 below the 330i by about 5 lakhs atleast. The BMW has much more oomph and is rear wheel drive. Makes little sense to opt for this A4 if its priced same as the beemer. |

| ![]() BMW will destroy this with their stetched 3-series. The Audi looks old, a generation behind. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Audi overall has lost it's charm and badge value, it's now just an another car on the road. Look at the car photo posted by Venkatesh, there is absolutely nothing wow about it, and this shade makes it look even more boring. A friend who was in market picked a 5 Series, flat out refused to even look at A6. The pricing will again be in la la land, and by the time the discounts kick in, market would have written this car off. If Audi really needs to make an impact, they need to shake the market atleast with pricing, launch it at a price at what you would sell after discounts, and people will take notice due to lower entry point. |

BMW now has the long wheelbase 3 coming in. Audi may as well have not bothered with the effort of making it here.

The present A6 had dealers quoting 45L - 47L ex-showroom after discounts for what is a very well equipped variant. That is top end C Class / 3 series money! Unfortunately, in these models, RWD variants are not made globally so no chance of them coming to India. VWAG in general has stuck to FWD for it's 4 cylinder motors, and AWD for the bigger 6 cylinder engines - there are a few exceptions, but that is the norm for them.

| ![]() In terms of design language alone, I like Audi more than BMW, although Mercedes Benz and Jaguar contend for the top spot. None of the BMWs look good to my eyes particularly their suvs. I prefer the looks of Q8 to x7 anyday. May be the grill has a major role to play here. |

| ![]() 5th-gen Audi A4 listed on website Audi has listed the A4 sedan on its Indian website. Bookings for the car are open and production has begun at Audi's manufacturing facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. ![]() The A4 gets new headlights, redesigned bumpers, dual exhausts and LED tail lamps. On the inside, it gets a continuous air vent strip and sensor-controlled reading lights. Ambient lighting is available as an option. It also gets a 10.11-inch MMI touchscreen infotainment head-unit with voice commands. The A4 is available with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that puts out 188 BHP. It propels the car from 0-100 km/h in a claimed 7.3 seconds. ![]() ![]() ![]() Link to Team-BHP News Last edited by ChiragM : 24th December 2020 at 14:30. |

| ![]() The exterior front 3/4th reminds me of the B7 Passat, which is a very nice looking car in my opinion. 2.0 TFSi sounds exciting but 188hp state of tune is sure a letdown and I am pretty sure that Quattro is out of the picture now for Audi sedans in India. They could have put up a bit of a fight against C/320d if it was 200hp and and Quattro, yet again they decided not to deliver. Even the Superb 3V 2.0 makes 200+hp. Better would be to pick up a B8 A4 3.2 FSi or a D4 A8L 4.2 FSi (if you like adventures and vrooms and can also foot long bills) The alternative contenders look nice, handle nice and sound even nicer: B8 A4 3.2 FSi Quattro: ![]() D4 A8L 4.2 FSi Quattro: ![]() |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() This car would look so much better had Audi given it some better looking rims. The plain-jane 5 spoke silver rims just don't cut it by 2020 standards and are a downgrade compared to previous A4 in my opinion. Looks like they are out of an early 2000s car. This looks so much better: ![]() Than this: ![]() Last edited by DriverNo.420 : 26th December 2020 at 21:20. |
