Re: ASCI asks Nissan to modify or withdraw Magnite advertisement

What about all those claimed 5 Star scores in non- Indian crash tests? And then the whole “ calculate kiya kya” campaign should be questioned.

Re: ASCI asks Nissan to modify or withdraw Magnite advertisement

Data does suggest that the 593 mm knee room is the 'best in class'. This cant be disproved. Wireless connectivity is a feature unique to the Magnite and Sonet, and a useful feature nonetheless. How can a manufacturer not go to town with features that sets it apart? The LED headlamps are really good, and Nissan should talk about it. I'd like the competition to just follow suit instead of 'filing suit' and make these features available in their cars. That's the right approach

Re: ASCI asks Nissan to modify or withdraw Magnite advertisement

Another day, another frivolous complaint! Swift says limitless performance, heck, could not stand light flooding in our apartment! Creta is marketed as perfect or the ultimate SUV. Let's compare it to say Fortuner and say it is not the ultimate SUV, force them to take down the advertisement? IMHO, complaints should be entertained only when there is some objective claim which can be proven false! Clearly best in class is extremely subjective. We, along with government and babus will never let any business run in peace!

Re: ASCI asks Nissan to modify or withdraw Magnite advertisement

Got a good chuckle out of the bit below. Talk about nitpicking and wanting to be 'technically correct, the best form of correct'.

Quote:
The CCC also observed that the brochure promoted all the variants of the Nissan Magnite, and since the advertisement was for all variants, features could differ for all the models in the segment.
If they're saying only features available on the advertised/showcased variant can be claimed in an ad or brochure, or that each variant must be advertised separately with its own feature list for accuracy, they should yank all automotive ads from the air & print for 'misrepresentation' and 'exaggeration'.

Page #30/31 of the brochure has the variant-level feature breakdown, like most brochures out there.
