Much better than estilo / santro, it will be runaway success i think

Now that the Spark is being put into the limelight, I wonder where that will leave the UVA or should I say Car of The Year

Dippy, as someone pointed out even earlier, the U-VA logically belongs to a different segment, pitted against the likes of the Getz and the Swift.

However, i feel its sales would definitely be affected by the top end Spark. If the customer only looks at the B+ segment, he may even ignore the Chevy camp altogether.

benbsb

Comepletely agree with you on the UVA front. Its in a different segment and a bigger engine altogether. But I couldnt help noticing that it isnt really big a car after I saw it in the flesh. I really want to see how the Spark and UVA look side by side. I hardly see any on the road and plus the Indian car buyer's mind is so unpredictable. So just the thought crossed me that i this case the UVA sales or whatever is there of it will be affected

The centre console is a bit odd. All the passengers can see exactly how much you are pushing the engine. Prepare to be nagged by the ladies of the house :)

The central console seems idiotic. It saves cost to the company (both LHD & RHD can share same dash board). But the driver is put to inconvenience.

I'm in the habit of additionally keeping an eye on speedometer for changing gears. It will be painful (and dangerous) to look sideways all the time.

They have even compared the service cost and the parts with Estilo, Wagon R and Santro.

Yeah, but they haven't compared the labour costs! When they do that, then it will be a credible comparison.

Can somebody post the correct link to the site?

In chevyspark.in , i can see three options, one asks to leave number behind, other takes to yahoo answers website, and the third option takes to some message sending page.
Where to go from here ??

Clear your brower's cache and reload. You will see the new site. Its all in the home page in a single Flash presentation.

No Shobhit it doesnt work

Can you post direct link to specifications page?

EDIT: Its working now.

Not much impressed. santro is bigger in all aspects and has a smaller turning radius. Also Santro has an ABS option which is not shown. The console at centre is certainly turn off and also the boot space seems to suffer a lot.

Engine has some gizmoz though such as SEFi (A-la Ikon)

Liked the 3 year warranty, roof rails and spoiler option and ABS and Alloys option on the LT Option pack model. 60-40 rear seat is also a thums up.

PS: what's with not providing Left OSRVM on the first two models?

hehhehe its cost cutting my frnd....there are many cars whose base models are barring the Left ORVMs

Well, the base version is about 40 grand more than the comparitive Santro. Lets wait and see what the other variants are priced vis-a-vis competition.

But the Swift has shown what a genuinely good looking hatchback can do to the market. The Santro / Wagon / Alto / Indica have been around for ages. And the Spark does look cool and refreshing. Chevy has marginally updated the engine and suspension, so it will only improve upon the Matiz strengths : Interior space, ride quality and ease of driving.

Will be interesting to gauge the market response. But will Chevy's dealership coverage (as against the broader Maruti / Hyundai / Tata dealers) be a limitation to actual numbers?

Well its looks good except i don't like the center console. Also did anyone check their comparison with other cars regarding service cost and parts costs ? Is that true that some Maruti parts are even costlier that other cars ?

And where is pricing on the website ?
