Audi India is said to have started the homologation process of the Q3 and Q3 Sportback in India. The SUVs are expected to be launched around Diwali 2022.



The second-generation Q3 features a more aggressive look compared to its predecessor. The SUV has a large hexagonal grille with redesigned LED headlamps at the front, while the rear gets a new set of LED taillights and other modifications. The Q3 Sportback comes with a coupe-like roofline and different alloy wheels.

Inside, the upcoming Q3 gets a sleek new dashboard with a touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a digital instrument cluster. The SUV also gets a slew of safety aids including blind-spot monitoring, a rear cross-traffic alert system, a 360-degree camera and adaptive cruise control.

In India, the Q3 and Q3 Sportback is likely to be offered with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 188 BHP paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and the Quattro all-wheel drive system.

The Audi Q3 will compete with the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA and the Volvo XC40.

Finally the bread-and-butter model for Audi India is coming back!

Good to see even the Sportback coming to Indian shores, will be interesting to see which one will be the higher priced one. Also other competitors have moved to FWD layouts like the X1, XC40 except the GLA, will be good to see that Quattro system.

Though 2 TSI is a great engine, honestly tired of seeing it in almost every VAG model.
Atleast they should have got a VRS state of tune in these Audi's - Q3, Q5 etc.

This is why I feel new Octavia is the most VFM car

Only if Audi had launched these by June this year, we could have expected some good discounts by January-March 2023. This seems highly unlikely if they launch it around Diwali.

Honestly the 190BHP state of tune for the Q3 will be a bummer specially if they price it in the 45L bracket.

OT, is it the picture or is the rear wheel of the car in the left side, out of its place.. it looks a bit 'teda' to me

I own a '2021 Audi Q3 45 TFSI Quattro S-Line Premium Tiptronic' in New York that makes 228 hp and 258 lb-ft from a 2L four-cylinder turbo. 0-100 kmph is 7.0 seconds. Mine is Navarra blue with Okapi brown leather interior. Looks like the rear in the scoop photo is different than the ones available here in the US.

All-new Audi Q3 likely to launch in India next month, deliveries planned for the upcoming festive season.

The India-spec Q3 is expected to get the 190hp, 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol unit mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox driving all four wheels.

Whenever the launch be, doubt whether we will be seeing good discounts even from Audi given the current environment.

The car in the left of the scoop photo seems to be the Q3 Sportback, so that is why the rear seems to be different from your standard Q3? The one one the right seems to be the standard Q3.

190bhp 2.0 TSI is the staple for MQB cars it seems. Even Q2 had this. This same engine puts out 250bhp in the q5, Audi should offer this to set it apart from the segment. Add to that quattro and this will comfortably be the next enthu pick. The Mk1 Q3 initially came here with the 211bhp TSI too.

As per my Dealer sources, bookings are open for a sum of ₹50K.
Price announcement due this month (17th August tentatively).
Expected pricing:- ₹45-48L OTR. (No idea regarding the Sportback prices).
Expected to be offered in two different trim lines, most probably Premium Plus and Technology.

Also, scopes of good discounts are really low given the current situation of the Automotive Market and low availability of kits for the CKD units.

I highly doubt that is the OTR number. Even the ageing X1 is 51+ OTR. It is most probably the ex-showroom price which puts it inline with the recently launched GLA.

I honestly got tired of waiting for the Q3 - it would have been my pick amongst the GLA, X1 and XC40. However, this car has had the "coming soon" status for over a year now

That pricing will be incredible considering BMW X1 is 50+ lac on-road

Why would you pick this over the recently launched GLA which is much more luxurious and comes with a powerful and efficient diesel engine to boot?

Next-gen Audi Q3 teased ahead of India launch

Audi has released teaser images of the upcoming Audi Q3. The SUV is expected to be launched in India around September, this year.



The teaser image shows a small section of the exterior. The SUV has carbon fibre ORVM housing and gloss black window trim, B-pillar and roof rails.

The new Q3 is based on the VW Group’s MQB platform. At the front, the SUV gets a large hexagonal grille and redesigned LED headlamps, while the rear features wraparound LED tail lamps and redesigned front and rear bumpers.



The Q3 gets a refreshed interior with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

In India, the new Q3 is expected to be offered with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 187 BHP. The engine will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system.
