Re: The curious case of priority car deliveries & long waiting periods

The demand has gone up dealers are doing good volumes in sales, however production remains same in most cars with waiting period, dealers put in demands for a lot more cars but what is allocAted to them is at the behest of the company. Most dealers are also making a buck extra on the sly, i am currently engaged in a battle to get a fortuner delivered by 1st week may which is just one of the four vehicles being sent to delhi ncr for this month. Dealer is trying his level best to avoid giving it to me as he has already i guess pocketed an extra sum from someone else for the same, but i have escalated to Toyota, hoping for a favourable resolution, lets see what happens.

Turns out everyone (media houses and yours truly included ) was taken for a royal ride.

The booking part seems to be true but the Jiju was a pigment of imagination.

Re: The curious case of priority car deliveries & long waiting periods

My friend bought one of the last Ford Endeavors, he paid 2L extra to get it.
So many of my friends are ready to pay extra 50k-1L to get the few remaining Polo GTs.

Not a very smart thing to do considering the endeavour's tanking reasale now, sold my 3.2 2018 6 mnths before ford said tata india and happy i did so now the rates have gone further down. For a company no longer selling in india no amount of social media outcry or hoopala will make an iota of a difference to them when it comes to after sales and warranty!

You are absolutely right but it was his dad's dream car but couldn't afford it back in the day and he is no longer in this world, so it was a decision dictated by heart rather than brain.

AFAIK, the last few Endy's were going for a discount of around 2-2.5 L.

I guess the seller was smart enough to gauge the need for the car and made a quick buck. Another shady thing that DSAs are known for.
