Registering a new car | Aadhar & PAN card mandatory?

PAN is mandatory for TCS. So hey are justified in asking for PAN. Aadhar is optional.

Well, now Cars 24 is insisting on my Aadhaar number - all 12 digits for selling my car. I have already given my Pan, Driving license and masked Aadhaar card.
But they are insisting on Aadhaar card with all digits.

I had a similar experience while applying for Tata Neu Credit card. They are also not okay with Pan + masked Aadhaar card/other address proofs.

It will helpful to know how others, who are also NOT keen to share their Aadhaar number, navigate these situations.
