Can you explain this point? How is Tata's crash prevention inferior compared to the competition?

Why should they, in the last few years they've been the fastest growing large manufacturer even amon ICE segments. And using that analogy if maruti is incapable of making safe cars should they quit manufacturing cars altogether?

Against what benchmark may I ask, Baleno, Spresso, Creta? It's a reputation that maruti has earned over the years of having the lightest built quality and weakest body structures globally.

Nexon and Altroz offer ESP in their variants. Nexon has roll-over mitigation, cornering stability control and traction control. So which active safety features are you referring to? If its ADAS, which cars in the relevant segments have it? Saying that these cars are worst in active safety seems an exaggeration.

Read and compare the brochures to rivals buddy! They are self-explanatory.

Not sure why Maruti is mentioned when we are talking about Tata getting better at their job. Cars unfortunately cannot be bought in an a-la-carte pack like food items or TV packs where I can choose to get the engine and peace of a Maruti in my safe Tata! If I am considering a Tata for its safety, I also expect them to come with a decent engine.

And if we are talking about Maruti, they made the 5-star capable Brezza (As per NCAP- Link) , they made the S-Cross and they also made the 3-star Latin NCAP Swift (Safe enough for its time and yes, the Latin NCAP tested car was India-spec!).

So yeah, Maruti can very well make safe cars and they have done it many times. They just choose to be profit-obsessed bean counters and that although sad, is unfortunately true.

Tata on the other hand, has never had an engine that can hold a candle against benchmarks like the K12, VTEC, 1.6 CRDI, TSI, TGDI, MStallion, MHawk etc.

Why are you so obsessed with Maruti sir!!
Everyone knows Maruti has never bothered about safety but even they have improved their active safety with newer models (and hopefully passive safety too but we'll never know if NCAP keeps wasting resources on retesting old, non-updated and proven-unsafe models like the Swift and S-Presso again-and-again, instead of testing heavily updated and new and rumoured-to-be-safe models like the new Baleno, Brezza and Grand Vitara!)

The 2.2 L DICOR with 140 horses and 320NM torque was definitely competent on the original Safari. The VARICOR 400 mated with the punch powerglide gearbox too was a delight to drive on the Hexa. I have often wished that they had continued developing it for the Safari 2.0. The mHawks never excited me as much especially on the highway.

Tata is really lagging behind their engines, which they are covering up with PR talk of leapfrogging to the BEV age. Same for the lack of AWD/4x4/BoF vehicles in their lineup.

Anyway, hoping that Tata would atleast showcase the 1.5l 4 cylinder petrol in the Auto Expo.

Your wish is fulfilled!!!!

TATA is displaying new engines in 1.2L and 1.5L Petrol engines.

Watch out!!!!

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

Tata Harrier on Gen-2 EV platform with Dual electric motors and AWD.

Tata Sierra EV is very close to production concept form. Glass roof panels and all seem to be carried over in this version of concept too and conventional 5 doors as well.

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

Is it just me or the Altroz sport version looks ugly? And what's with the wanna be name Racer? Hope production versions get a different name.

They should have tried creative aesthetic adds like Hyundai did with Nline, instead of just slapping gloss black over the bonnet

It looks the same, apart from a two tone paint job which is unlikely to be standard I think.
