Audi India seems to be doing something right here, good for consumers. 2.0L 188HP/320Nm will at least be fun to drive.

BMW X1 and MB GLA with 1.3L turbo both will take 8.5+ seconds for 0-100 and set you back by around 60L. What are they thinking? Who in right mind will spend that kind of money on a puny 1.3L Renault motor? Guess there are plenty of people with aspirations of owning a German brand who will pay ridiculous amount just for a badge. Even a 4 year old used X1/GLA will be more fun and value.

Great move by Audi. Just what was needed to keep the segment alive, it should definitely have a positive impact on their sales figures. BMW and Mercedes would get their wake up call sooner now.

Wow! this design looks so much fresher, sportier and appealing over the regular Q3.

With a potent engine to boot, I think this should sway some of the potential customers of the (now) lame 20d engines of X1, towards the Sportback Q3.

If I were shopping in this price bracket, this would be definitely at the top of my list.

That is almost 70 Lakh on road in Hyderabad. KIA EV 6 / Hyundai Ioniq 5 are more sensible buys. Also one get a same engine tune Kodiak at a lesser price.

Does Audi deserve this premium of almost 35 % ?

This much money for the same engine that goes on an Octavia for half the price? Nope. Bring back the 2.0L 400 nm diesel, else the Q3 has become pretty irrelevant since the BS6 norms kicked in. Premium interiors are also there in the Kodiaq as well, 30L lesser.

Finally the Audi Q3 Sportback is back !!.
I was very much inquisitive to see the car on Indian roads. As the engine option in new BMW X1 is insufficiently powered, the Audi Q3 Sportback an unmistakable option for prospective buyers ( if I was in the market for midsize SUV in this price bracket, this would have been my pick).

Q3 Sportback looks great, decently powered with reference to its competitors. Audi discounts in coming days will surely make it VFM entry level luxury SUV. If discounts can bring it around 55L OTR in Delhi/NCR, we can see lot of buyers.

I think you must be confusing the Q5 and the Kodiaq.. The Q3 sport back is ~15 lac more than the Kodiaq. And Audi’s discounting will probably bring that closer to 10 lacs soon, while Škoda usually doesn’t offer discounts on the Kodiaq.

Whether that premium is worth it is very subjective. The Q3 does have the nicer badge and arguably a tad nicer interiors. It’s also nicer to look at, though a lot less practical that the Kodiaq or even the regular Q3.

Does Audi offer discounts on these? Realistically by how much?

Audi is not offering any discount on Q3 right now. Audi discounts are going to roll in the coming months for sure, just hold on and wait for the discounts (going to be VFM).

The Q3 sportback looks good. And even though you get the same engine as the Kodiaq/Octavia, it carries a Higher Badge value.

For people considering only petrol options, the Q3 offers the best performance with 190PS and quattro AWD. The X1 and the GLA both produce less power and there's no AWD option for Petrol. X1 now has 1 less cylinder too!

Going by how things have been in the past, I would expect them to offer discounts during the festive season and towards the end of the calendar year to push sales. Being a new model, there probably won’t be any discounts in March.

The exact amounts of course will be too difficult to predict right now. That would depend on how much inventory they allot for India, how the market responds, etc.
