So cool but never really liked lights in my eyes, even from the MID/music system when driving in the dark. Not sure how it would help with the driving though it surely is a party trick that would attract buyers.

I am not a fan of 2 spoke steering wheels in general. I am not even sure if I like this design that much, but I personally prefer 3 spoke steering, they simply look better to me, though there are some exceptions like Skoda Slavia's 2 spoke steering looks fantastic to me. But on the other hand there are the one's like Hyundai Verna's steering which I don't like at all.

I have a question, won't this screen/glass panel affect the airbag deployment ?

I doubt they would put a screen here. Airbag deployment should not cause shrapnel from components to be thrown out and injure the driver. that logo illumination can be done with just plastic trim acting as light pipe.

The Nexon's steering wheel looks quite funky but TaMo has to really work upon its workings. It must contain minimum to no lags.

As you can see, the leather-wrapped flat-bottom wheel has a rectangular hub section with a piano black finish. The central section is actually a screen that displays the 'Tata' logo when the ignition is switched on.

I hope they give a switch to regulate light intensity of that lit logo. Else, it will be too in-your-face harsh. Especially on night drives.

Yes in case of an accident, you get a free illuminated tata logo on your forehead

The fit and finish on that steering wheel display and buttons looks horrible. This is the main reason I find buying a Tata product difficult. To get the gimmick in, they will go to extra lengths but ignore quality. Almost as if they believe they get a free pass because they are the first and an Indian manufacturer. It sticks out like a sore thumb while the rest of the car materials are of high quality. Good products let down by some mediocre job here and there.

Let's wait till we see a proper production version. I don't think it is that bad to be a deal breaker.

On another note, I think "in-steering" displays have been tried before

That hood with 2 sharp protruding design seems wicked and might look unique for sure

I really wish they fix the rear design this time around which is very much needed to complement the overall stance of the car.

As for the steering wheel, it might look unique but the emptiness is so evidently showing it's ugly face! I will always like the 3 spoke designed wheels.

On a side note, I really hope manufacturers provide unique steering to their entire line up of cars. Seeing steering designs shared across the line up is a letdown for me. Just IMHO!

I think it is already available in some aftermarket products. I have seen one in a Jeep GC SRT in Dubai, which is illuminated by "cold-light" (optical fiber light plumbing) as correctly said by sivasain. This picture is taken from the web, but it looked almost the same. Not sure whether the color and intensity can be controlled, in this example, you can't.

I think there’s a dedicated thread on the opinion about two spoke steering wheels.Personally I am not a fan of them and am against the recent trend of manufacturers adopting this ,it looks retro modern in a S class but not in a TATA.This simply look’s like a modern version of those old steering wheel design they use in the 407 mini truck.
