Why are folks criticizing the beige interiors?

The frequent touchpoints should not be beige. The front / rear armrest, lower parts of interior, door armrest etc. They soon start turning dark which spoils the look of interior IMO.

In my opinion it is the Mic

I like the interiors and white is a rare pick among the tan and pure black options available across segment. Few observations:

1) The centre console/handbrake area is either piano Black or white. There is a film applied to the whole area.

2) The white seats look to be of a similar quality to those in Xuv700 which will take the cabin experience up a notch. Looking at the pores, I was wish they give ventilated seats but given that it's elder brother misses on them, highly unlikely they'll debut in the 300. Maybe will be introduced in mid life FL after it debuts in 700.

3) Don't want to judge too soon, however even with the camouflage and wraps on, the interiors fail to impress. Especially when compared to Nexon. I fear the interiors will age quite soon after launch and repeat the same history as with current iteration. The efforts by Mahindra, while sufficient at the time development started, seem to be outperformed by competition prior to the launch.

I am hoping for the best but the truth is that XUV300 needs more than a facelift to capture the market. If TC gearbox is not included in this FL, they can bid hopes of a respectable market share goodbye.

Possible interiors of the upcoming XUV 400 facelift? Found on r/carsindia subreddit onReddit.

If yes, this is a good leap for the interiors. Might be similar on the upcoming XUV300 facelift as well.

Posting the picture from the reddit post here for easy reference.

The glossy plastics aside, this feels refreshing. Guess it is the the touchscreen, lighter colour lower parts and the white blanked windshield.

Steering from the XUV700, digital instrument cluster with maps clap:, centre console that made the jump from the 2000s to the 2010s (but not 2020s). Physical controls!!!! Can't stress that enough. Not only does the touchscreen look smart, it has the volume knob and physical buttons retained, with the HVAC also retaining physical buttons and knobs.

But. The shallow storage space in front of the gear lever remains. If not for wireless charging, they should have made it deeper. the instrument cluster binnacle looks something from a 2000-10s Mahindra. Too much glossy plastics.

And why oh why, did they fill up the storage shelf in front of the passenger!!!

Such a good useful space, and they went ahead and filled it with glossy plastic for aesthetics?:Frustrati

Everything else, the plastic panels around it are the same. They just changed the storage shelf bit for a glossy insert. Bless the designer who thought of it.

Edit: Adding the scoop video of the new XUV400 too.

If this spy shot is accurate, then this illustration is pretty close to what maybe the new facia of the 300.

One more car gets connected taillights!

Anyone on the forum has any information on when this is likely to be launched? Considering Mahindra’s trend of launching vehicles on patriotic days, I assumed it’d be 26th Jan, but that didn’t happen. Even the XUV700 upgrade was quite low key. Is it like Mahindra spends good marketing budget only for fresh launches and not much for facelifts?

The above link says launch in Feb 2024, which means actual deliveries will happen from April. Hoping that following things are added :

1. Ventilated seats
2. ADAS
3. Better boot space
4. Modern interior
5. TC auto gearbox (this is almost confirmed based on leaks)

The spyshots in above link are absolutely smashing, it has that futuristic rover like vibe to it!

So it looks like 300 and 400 are going to be two different vehicles in electric segments. They may differ in features and battery pack size. Is it true?

No latest updates on the XUV300 FL launch? Suddenly all the spy spots / scoops etc. have come to a halt like.

Any idea when is the launch scheduled?

Last week spotted this test mule;

Clicked on NH3.

What is going on at M&M? What is so wrong with this facelift that they are testing it since before August 2023 and its now March 2024 and still no word on the launch date? I get that you are trying to bring a sorted product to the market but come on M&M.

I don't get why does it take so long for Indian OEMs to complete their testing and still their products are riddled with issues. I heard that they've stopped bookings for the current gen XUV300 so atleast that is something.

XUV300 Facelift Base, Mid and Top Variants Spyshots

We can see a base trim on the move here. There are quite a few elements in this model to dictate its base-level positioning. For starters, there are steel wheels with conventional wheel covers. Other than that, we can see un-painted ORVMs too. Mahindra is still offering blackened pillars with this base variant, which lends an upmarket look.

No roof rails on the BASE and MID spec variants. A sharkfin antenna is also absent on the top spec variant in the favour of a conventional antenna.

Just like what Renault and Tata Motors have been doing, Mahindra is hopping on the train of offering stylish steel wheels. As seen in the pictures, these steel wheels are designed to look like alloy wheels from a distance, in conjunction with their respective wheel covers. We reckon Mahindra will offer these with mid-level trims.

At last below is the Top spec variant with alloy wheels that match with that on the current model XUV300.

I am just hoping for Mahindra to aggressively price the facelift, especially the automatic versions.

It is saddening to see that Mahindra hasn’t updated the body panels even one bit. They could have better packaged the rear quarter IMHO. Overall, the exterior has been given little thought. The interiors are a step forward, but may not be enough.
