The biggest chink in its armor is the abysmal boot space for a car of this size. Where the industry norm is ~ 350 liters, Mahindra is getting away with a hatchback sized boot space!

I had expected that they'll do some changes to the internals and try to leverage more boot space, alas !

Re: New Mahindra Compact SUV spotted | XUV300 Facelift?

I was told by a Mahindra showroom executive that it is expected to launch this month (March)..of course that was my conversation with him last month. Still, keeping fingers crossed.

Have always liked the XUV300 - compact but robust and pretty well specced. But the really dated instrument cluster and boot space were big downers. Guess the boot remains the same but at least an XUV700 style large and cool looking instrument cluster and a good TC gearbox might make it more desirable.

Of course, all this and not a ridiculous price (even if introductory ones are low) and waiting period..

Re: New Mahindra Compact SUV spotted | XUV300 Facelift?

Mahindra XUV300 interiors spied again.

XUV700-like infotainment system with Adrenox Ui. The overall dashboard layout seems similar to the XUV400. According to our sources, Mahindra has increased the boot space in the facelift and spy shots seem to confirm this possibility.

Any guess if they will offer a TC Automatic instead of just AMT ?

Much needed facelift. 300 is the most mechanically sound and best engineered vehicle in its category, but it has always been let down by the aesthetics, inside and outside. It’s a vehicle that looked old even at launch, quite like the S Cross. Hope the facelift is thorough, more than what they have done with the XUV400 EV. Also hoping for a new, properly refreshed instrument cluster. The current one looks totally obsolete.

Agree with all the points. Not to forget the poor boot space for a such well-spaced car. A minimum of 350 L is the norm for this segment.

If they launch a TC in both Petrol & Diesel ; it'll give a solid competition to the Kia Sonet.

The new 3XO looks a lot better than those silly renders by Autocar India! Looking forward to this one!

Re: New Mahindra Compact SUV spotted | XUV300 Facelift?

Looks very exciting. I hope this will up the ante in the compact SUV servent. I will possibly consider changing my car in the next few months and if the top end gets ADAS, 360 camera, panoramic sunroof, etc, this will be a top contender. Hope pricing will be reasonable and competitive, as we come to expect. Waiting!

Re: New Mahindra Compact SUV spotted | XUV300 Facelift?

What is this? Is this an upgrade from XUV3OO? If so, why this new naming convention? Or is this something new? ICE or EV? EV got 4OO naming, then what is this? When you are going to stop naming your upgrades with a new name altogether as a new product?

When I first saw this title, I thought, OMG another photoshop from Mahindra for an non existing (yet) product? Why Mahindra is being Mahindra again and again to the point that I lost hope on these guys! Why not focus on the product? Even in the communication, why they can not be a bit more clear? This is simply annoying rather than exciting from Marketing point of view. Mahindra need to get rid of their communication and marketing team altogether as they did with their Design department lately.

Why the hell such a big promotion on a silly alloy wheel? Just look at the number of shots on that stupid looking rear brake lights! They have to understand their strength and build on top of that. They can not be Kia or Hyundai. They know a thing or two about rugged, long lasting body, engine, gearbox and make them niggle free. As simple as that.

Do not try to come up with a Creta or Seltos like vehicle and it is near impossible for you, as you do not have the number to cope up with like they have globally. Do not compete with them in features or design, they are even far better than Toyota or Honda when it comes to features. Sell your products for its durability, toughness, awareness of Indian road conditions and exploit your presence all over India. Just play to your strength.

Re: New Mahindra Compact SUV spotted | XUV300 Facelift?

Is it just me who has a problem with the new name - XUV3XO? Seriously? Sounds like Elon Musk's next kid's name

When it was first launched in 2019, it has many segment first features like heated steering and ORVMs, dual zone climate control, 17 inch alloys, 2600 mm wheelbase, steering modes, 7 airbags, centre passenger headrest, etc. But as time passed, they slowly removed these features one by one, thus turning one of the XUV300's strengths (features) into a weakness. I hope they catch up on that front with this update.

About the looks - I don't think much can be done to make the XUV3XO look proportionate unless they have reduced the wheelbase, which they most probably haven't. Thanks to its extremely short overhangs, the XUV300 always looked awkward to me especially from the sides. While the design was fairly good, the proportions weren't. Another thing I noticed - the XUV400, XUV700 and the XUV3XO now have different fonts! Talk about belonging to the XUV family

The current iteration already costs a bomb. It's very important that Mahindra price the car right. The question is - will they? Time will tell.

Re: New Mahindra Compact SUV spotted | XUV300 Facelift?

While indeed this seems to be a strange nomenclature but I guess this has something to do with differentiating their XUV lineup with BE lineup?

Sources are mentioning that it is not just the 300 that has got a name change but the entire XUV lineup is going to get this nomenclature.

Also, is it possible that this 3XO is the 300EV that was supposed to come along the ICE 300. Saying this as the teaser shows a closed front grille which all the EVs have.

Re: New Mahindra Compact SUV spotted | XUV300 Facelift?

Probably they are moving the XUV300 up the value chain, hence the new naming convention of 3XO[or the BEV connection]. Mahindra did the same with XUV500>>XUV700. With best in class driving dynamics, widest cabin in segment and smooth engines XUV300 is indeed a class above. Few things that are highlighted in the teaser,
  • Perforated seats - probably ventilated ?
  • Speakers - Sony trickling down from 700 ?
  • Headlamps - LED projectors.
  • Display - similar to XUV400 Pro with that power button in center.
  • New alloys - not sure why all manufacturers are going with such design, does it improve drag coefficient and mileage ?
  • Connected tail light - for a minute it gave Harrier vibes [ Pratap Bose effect ? ] and then the reverse C showed up! I am happy that XUV700 still doesn't have these, it gets very distracting and painful for the eyes during night drive. Govt should limit the use of lights on rear side, by adding a criteria to BNCAP safety score !
A new TC AT gearbox is also incoming with the GDI petrol engine, they may bring in a panoramic sunroof too, overall a big update. Just improve the boot space and this becomes a top recommendation.
