As far as I have heard the new Versa will definitely have the Swift's diesel engine, although modified to take the extra weight.

Engine is a 1.6L!
Interiors said to be roomy and comfy.

I hope they don't bring this as replacement to versa.

I always wonder why maruti cannot make their cars wider. If SX4 was a little wider, it would have looked much better. Most of suzuki cars are narrow.

i doubt we will have the autobox option at the launch time..
if we have this vehicle wid a diesel and autobox.. it will be a good seller.

When I think of the Versa, two things spring up to my mind. One is the puny tyres that the vehicle is shod with which is highly unsafe and the leg room of the rear seat (last row). I had an awful experience sitting in there (me being a 6 footer). Wish Maruti makes the new one roomier and more stable than the old one.

This APV lists for Singapore$61000 which is approximately Rs.16L. All this for a 1.6L engine? Talk about VFM!

I hope they dont make it a positioning guffaw like the current Versa. I am pretty sure they will not retain the Versa brand name.

Ideally, the new Versa should be the Omni replacement.

I think the back still looks disgusting !! Interiors look quite good though.

Pricing will have to be around 7 - 8 lacs to get into Innova territory.

MUL has done a lot for themselves with Swift & SX4. Hope they have the same luck with this one also.

BHPians - How many of you place a bet that they are going to have the entire Bacchan Family in for this one ( Including Ms Ash Rai ) lol

The APV looks horrible from the front, although the rear is fine.
Diesel would ensure it sells, and some cab operators could view it as a replacement for the Sumos or even the base trim Innova.

Internationally the Suzuki APV competes with the Toyota avanza which is a cheap MPV offering from toyota compared to the innova and is a segment lower than the innova
