Actually i feel that they are doing a more defensive marketing stratergy than an agressive one.

hey guys
did you check the Petra ad in the newspaper on friday,
fiat need to print bigger and colour ads, many readers must have just ignored a b/w postcard size ad. and with Ikon starting at 4.69 who will look a Fiat.

yeah,

even the ads with sachin were pathetic...i never saw hoardings at strategic places ..only saw the ads a couple of times on tv and that too only during the cricket matches!!

does fiat have a good enuf mktg budget in india ??

i think fiat launched the petrol petra for people who didnt like the diesel and wanted petrol ....
and they want to sell the diesel more as its one of the cheapest in its segment and will attract many buyers .....
what do u guys think

Come to think of it, the Petra petrol with a 1.6L DOHC 100 BHP engine is state of the art. Ride quality is unbeatable.

The diesel engine is outdated now, and will be more so when they start offering the diesel engines from their new joint venture with Maruti. But still, I guess the diesel is good for hard core diesel economy lovers.
