Spoke to the Manager again at 9:30 in the evening. Only difference is that this time my father spoke & gave that fellow a crash course in professionalism. He claims that the price hike had happened on 5th August & everybody was notified while I was told by his sales person today morning! He said he'll get back on Monday. Will keep you guys posted.

Ok..update on this issue. The Manager still maintains that the car has been bought under the new price & that I'll have to pay it. Although Hyundai did contact the dealership directly they have not replied to me as yet & I don't think they'll either because its been 4 days already. Guess the only alternative left for me is to pay up the amount of the car I'd appreciate if anyone could help me in getting this story across to Autocar's Helpdesk since I'm not a subscriber of the magazine & that service is only for the subscribers.

Dont worry about the subscription. At worst, just get a fresh one if need be.

Autocarindia is here to help against such fraudulent dealings. Just shoot a mail to helpline@autocarindia (or is it helpdesk@autocarindia.com)? If someone has the issue, please provide the right email address.

Include a link to this topic.

we had a similar problem when we purchased the CRDi from a dealer in hyd.
HYUNDAI dealer problem

You have to give these guys a good bashing.
If they continue to act too smart tell them that you would pay the 5K but publish the whole matter in newspaper "customers section" along with their names.
See how that works!!

In the meantime, we'd like to feature this as a case study in our Helpline section, for which we'll need to do a short interview and photoshoot, if that's all right with you. Please send me your contact details, so I can get in touch with you personally.
Thanks and regards,

Must say I'm impressed with their prompt response.

You said it. I had met with them for my Vtec case and they came across as extremely co-operative and professional.

Good luck
