Re: Nissan Magnite facelift could arrive by mid-2024; to be exported to LHD markets

Wonder what happened to their Qashqai and X-trail. These brands do launch, announcements, promise a lot and then take eternity to launch a new product. Entire excitement dies down by that time.

Nissan Magnite facelift front fascia partially leaked

The Nissan Magnite is due for a midlife makeover. Spy images of camouflaged prototypes are all over the internet. Now, for the first time, the updated crossover has been partially leaked.

The Magnite facelift can be seen in the Tata Punch.ev crash test video released by Bharat NCAP. You can see the car parked in the background at the 1 min 50 sec mark.

A close look at the leaked image reveals a new front grille and headlamps that form a single visual unit. The headlamps seem to have been reprofiled and have a sharper look than before, while the L-shaped LED DRLs have been carried over unchanged. A silver faux skid plate is also visible in the image.

The Magnite is likely to receive a few updates on the interior as well. We’ve been told it will get a redesigned dashboard and offer additional features such as a single-pane sunroof and 6 airbags.

The Magnite facelift is expected to be offered with the same set of engines as the current model. It includes a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. The naturally aspirated engine is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT, while the turbocharged engine gets a 5-speed manual and CVT option.

BNCAP being the best spy shot provider.

That being said, safety first approach being taken manufacturers seriously.

Nissan Magnite facelift to be launched in India by end-2024

The Nissan Magnite is due for an update later this year. During a recent presentation, Nissan confirmed that the Magnite facelift will go on sale in India by the end of 2024.

The Nissan Magnite facelift will feature a refreshed exterior design aligned with other SUVs from Nissan’s global lineup. Some of its design details had recently leaked through a Bharat NCAP crash test video. It revealed a redesigned front grille, new headlamp clusters and L-shaped LED DRLs.

The Magnite is also expected to get a few interior updates. The crossover could get a redesigned dashboard and additional features such as a single-pane sunroof and 6 airbags.

Re: Nissan Magnite facelift could arrive by mid-2024; to be exported to LHD markets

If only the interiors are upgraded significantly from the disappointing quality in the current version, Magnite can pull Nissan until they introduce new models as per their plans announced recently.

Hopefully they address this in the facelift. Otherwise, I don't see much gain in the no. of units sold.

The test drive experience should also be looked into by Nissan/ Renault. My father in law wanted a small runabout in the city and we went for a test drive. I was trying to push the Magnite/ Kiger, just for the under dog feels. But the TD car was filthy, vibrating like crazy and after driving it, I myself dropped the idea and discouraged them from buying either.

I couldn't agree more with this, The test drive car I received from Nissan was compromised in an accident and even the remote wasn't working. It had all sorts of issues and was surely the worst Test drive vehicle I have seen to date, However, the Kiger test drive vehicle, albeit a bit older was well-kept and was a pleasant experience. Anyways I dropped both of them and went for a Sonet in the end.

Re: Nissan Magnite facelift could arrive by mid-2024; to be exported to LHD markets

Biggest USP for Magnite is its VFM proposition. With all the updates the facelift might be pricier. I'm keeping my expectations low after seeing the horrible pricing of Xtrail. The top guns in Nissan always suprise you (not in a good way).

Re: Nissan Magnite facelift could arrive by mid-2024; to be exported to LHD markets

From what I know, even though both the Nexon and Magnite are under 4m and about the same size on the outside, the Magnite is currently still a tier below products like the Nexon, Sonet, 3XO etc because of factors like the dearth of features (my opinion) etc.

I hope the facelift Magnite elevates it to be on par with other cars in the upper end of the sub-4m segment.

Customers have shown that they are more than happy to shell out 14-15 lacs for a sub-4m premium "SUV" (read - hatchback on stilts). So they should bring the Magnite (and perhaps by extension, the Kiger) to that level.

I think the current engine choices are more than decent for the facelift, it just needs a revamp in the interior and a couple of nice additions to the features list (since that is supposedly number one priority right now). The interior of the current Magnite feels very cheap, I used to feel like no car in the sub-4m category (regardless of segment) could feel as cheaply built as the Brezza but Magnite astonished me by how close it is w.r.t cheapness.

The exteriors really didn't need a facelift IMO. What needs to be changed stat u=is the cheap looking and feeling interior.

Re: Nissan Magnite facelift could arrive by mid-2024; to be exported to LHD markets

They have a good opportunity to update their solo product offering with better interiors and justify moving the price higher. But I'm afraid that multiple reports seem to point towards a "trim-piece update" instead of anything substantial. Here's hoping that they realise they don't HAVE to package car interiors like a cardboard box in the guise of VFM.
