Voted for Crossovers, Hatchbacks and SUVs in that order.

I feel that crossovers are currently the best car body type for a majority of Indian consumers. And the sales stats don't lie. I feel that a ton of R&D has gone into crossovers over the last decade, and they're a huge deal more than just 'hatchback-on-stilts'.
Case in point: The new Seltos and the Kushaq are definitely crossovers, but you can never accuse them of not being fun-to-drive.

Hatchbacks are here to stay for entry-level consumers, because that's the first choice for almost anybody upgrading from a bike to a car. Very maneuverable inside the crowded cities too.

SUVs might be more of an aspiration, rather than what I would like to buy right now. For all their impracticality inside the city, they're quite useful and valuable outside.

After trying out sedans, I decided that they neither have enough ground clearance, nor do they offer me comfortable ingress and egress. So I'll never buy a sedan. Views like mine are probably why sedans are slowly dwindling.

My current flagship is the Octavia A8 which has some of its attributes like a Sportback as an S5. Both are a keeper!



I hope I can get my hands on the distilled green metallic S5 (or an A5 with 3L TSI) someday.

Followed my heart & voted for sedan even though they may not be the best body style for Indian driving conditions. Sedans offer the perfect blend of driving dynamics, performance, space, practicality & luxury. There's a certain timeless appeal to a large sedan that is simply unmatched!

The most beautiful sedan I've owned thus far! It's been over 2 years since I sold her before relocating to Mumbai, but I still miss having her in my life!

If it is India, it has to be cross over(SUVish) to help avoid craters, fit in small lanes and roads, park in tight spots. Nothing beats cross overs. As OG mentioned, hard to get a proper looking one.

Happy to see that "Sedan" is the preferred body style choice of the majority on this forum, closely followed by SUVs - the practicality of which is undeniable in our conditions.

Although I don't own one at this point, I've voted for "Sedan" (having realized post-facto that it was a multi-choice poll) simply because the charm of a quintessential Sedan body-style is unbeatable for any automotive enthusiast, be it an S-Class or a humble Honda City.

Although my primary drive is an SUV, my vote goes for Sedan. The comfort, looks and handling of a Sedan goes unmatched!

Voted Sedan.

3 out of the 6 cars I have owned so far are sedan, rest 3 were compact hatchbacks.

Reason: A sedan connects with my driving preferences. sufficient engine power, triple digit stability, good visibility and backseat comfort.

The best hatchback I have owned was Brio which I loved for it's peppy engine & small footprint, sadly its not in production anymore. Nearest car matching it would be I20 N line, but again spending 12+ lakh on it seems impractical to me.

A car I would definitely prefer buying in next 5-7 years will be Skoda Octavia or Toyota Camry, both Sedan

I can't drive an SUV. mostly because I am so much used to the stability while driving a sedan. Also because any SUV which is within my budget rocks like a boat on highway & I am no off-roader to justify or bear it.

I am a sucker for the shooting brake style. Estates with low sloping roof lines.

Mercedes CLA or CLS shooting brake in AMG line are masterpieces IMHO.
